Wolverhampton Wanderers

It was the most important game of the season so far and we produced our worst performance of the season so far.
With that result we took a big step towards relegation.

The absolute first requirement for any team trying to stay in the Premier League is . . . winning home games against relegation rivals.

On top of that you have to take points off them at their ground, win a few games away against the middle-ranking clubs and grab a few draws against some of the strongest teams in the league.

Wolves have fallen at the first hurdle against Birmingham, and previously against Hull.

What that means is we now need something more that these basic requirements to get survival looking possible again.
Beating Bolton at Molineux is absolutely essential but not enough.
Now we need something special – a win against a team no-one will give us a chance against like Man U, Tottenham or Arsenal.
Trouble is, we haven’t looked capable of something like that for almost a month now.
