Perhaps I’m being greedy but I fancied six points from our first four games. I’ll take four though.
If we hit that total every month we’ll get the magic 40 points that usually guarantees survival.

And the three Ms – Morgan, McCarthy and Moxey – have made some last minute signings that we can be exited about too.

Maierhofer looks like an interesting player.
His goal record for Vienna (23 in 37 games last season) is impressive, albeit in an inferior league.
But his 6ft 7ins frame could be really useful for reason’s I’ll get to later.

And Castillo can also chip in with goals (15 in 48 last season) despite being a defensive midfielder.
I particularly like this signing because we previously had no cover/competition for Karl Henry.
He’s mates with Milijas too so that should help them both settle in to the club.
And Nenad says he’s good in the air.

This is particularly important as we need to improve on set pieces, both attacking and defending them.
An aerial threat is something we haven’t had in midfield so far and we continued to look vulnerable to corners and free kicks on Saturday.
Add to that Maierhofer – possibly our own version of Crouch or Heskey - and suddenly we’ve got some help for the defenders as well as a target man up front.

Doyle looked like a great player against Hull. Full of running and always looking to get a shot away.
He was unlucky not to score the winner on his debut. Only a flying thigh on the goal line prevented it.

So four points on the board and a good opportunity for more at struggling Blackburn at the weekend.

Come On You Wolves!
