Wigan Athletic

Saturday's result was probably one of the most important of the season in order for us to avoid relegation. Currently, we're 15th and 7 points clear of the dreaded drop zone. While this maybe doesn't sound like a lot considering it's only March, I'll be astonished if the three teams that are in the relegation zone at the moment aren't doing the same come May.

For me, Portsmouth, Burnley and Hull are looking like they're dead and buried which is why the result against Burnley was such a vital win.

Although we just managed to scrape past Burnley with our late (Actually, to call it late is kind of an understatement) result I think we definitely deserved our win. The chances we created meant we should have had the game sewed up by the time Rodallega sunk his diving header into the Burnley net.

I have to feel a bit sorry for Burnley though. They played like a team which contradicted their shocking away form and Brian Jensen in the Burnley goal played an inspired game. I do have a soft spot for the clarets and you have to admire their work ethic. I'd really like them to stay up but sadly I think it's going to be too much of a big ask at this stage.

Saturday's win was just the tonic we needed after the losses to Bolton and Villa. Now we're looking ahead to two tricky games on the road - away to Manchester City and Fulham. It's going to be tough to get anything out of those games but hopefully the win against Liverpool a few weeks back can convince us that we can beat anyone on our day.

Thanks for reading.

You say feel sorry for them, I'm not so sure. Here's why:
