Arghhhh! Well, the good vibes from the Chelsea match were good while they lasted! We seem to be going for the record of most inconsistent results in the Premier League at the moment. Our next two games are Man City at home and Burnley away... your guess is as good mine for what can happen with those two!
I'm not here to say 'I told you so' but I did mention in my last post after beating Chelsea that it wouldn't surprise me if we were to get nothing from the Hull game. It's a cliche but our unpredictability is getting to be a tad predictable. We'd be really dangerous if we could just get some consistency from stringing a few results together.
I have to say Hull completely deserved their victory. They worked hard, were resolute in defence and got that bit of extra luck that teams sometime need. That said, I still find this defeat hard to take. We dominated posession but were just lacking quality up front in creating and putting away chances. We pretty much put both of their goals on a plate for them too.
I do think, if funds allow, then perhaps we should look at bringing in a striker or creative midfielder in January. Against Wolves and Hull we've looked strong in the build up play but haven't seemed to have shown that killer instinct in front of goal and we ended up losing both of those games. Hopefully, finishing teams off is something we can work on in months to come.
So now we take on City after the International break and then we've got games against Burnley, Portsmouth and Fulham to come. Not a bad run of fixtures and those last three are definitely winnable. However, it wouldn't suprise me at the moment if we won all four or lost all four of those games. I think we just need to trust in Martinez right now. After Christmas I think this inconsistency we're currently experiencing will start to transfer itself into wins as the players begin to know what to expect from the manager.
Until then, I'd go easy about including Wigan in any betting acumulator my friends... you just dont know what your gonna get!

don't know how we gonna string any resulys together..nowhere near good enough up front for premier league..can't understand playing across field and going back towards our own goal when we losing 2-o and hardly any time left..i been going for many years now and this must be the most negative side we ever had..gomez nowhere near good enough for this tier of football surely manager can see this as all i speak to think the same..scotland also too old for this kind of football..he try but not good enough should give young sinclair a good run at least he got pace and can go forward and take on defence..also king has a bit of pace it no good bringing anyone on for 5 minutes and expect a change in game..hope i wrong but i tend to think martinez out of his depth in this league..he thinking like a championship manager..he keep saying give time for changes to kick in does he not realise that time is something you havent got in premier league..bottom 3 at christmas usually mean relegation..gordy

Well said Gordon.
I do think that Martinez is a good manager and Wigan's sitting at the mid table atm which to me is pretty decent considering they have already played 3 of the big 4 teams.
I for sure think they are a side good enough to remain in the premier league.

Nice article you got here. It would be great to read something more concerning that matter.
