Result! I said anything less than a 4-0 thrashing would be a good day out and so it proved. Of course, ManU correspondent Mark Payne thinks the Hammers got off lightly but the man is obviously confused by watching too much attacking football, £40m footballers and the ball being pinged about under floodlights on a Wednesday night. What did he expect?

At least, we let them have a stroll around and allowed them to look good. We could have come to clog and drop ten men back in defence. I tell ya - he'll miss us when we're gone!

This is the face of 21st Century football and you'll excuse me if I don't get too uptight about it. It'll be another 'avoid a thrashing' game next weekend when Chelsea come to visit and then we can concentrate on the other league - that's the one that doesn't incude oil-rich owners and Leeds United. I can't wait...

Billy!

I have a lot of time for West Ham's approach. As far as I can remember they've never tried to 'clog' us off the park and have always played a bit too.
The fact of the matter is you were there for the taking and we lightly spanked you, nothing more.

I DO hope it turns around for you guys. Why not start by scraping studs down the Chelsea boys next week?

Blagg: Lightly spanked? *blushes*

Crikey, we're not famous any more are we?!

Why the Leeds comment??

I'd love us to get back into the Prem knowing West Ham are still in it.....

Blagg: It was meant to indicate another division with a big team in who are probably pretty much at the same level as West Ham currently.

west ham is a great football club
the only mistake this year is to hire the israeli's coach
he is highly regarded to take a team to final, but without winning any trophy
his only proven specialization is relegating the team he coach

remember portsmouth.. this is where west ham going to be next season

Pretty poor showing..what is Spector doing on the field? FAubert is total crap..why arent' the youngsters playing? The side looks slow and has no plan on attack or defence..I have watched a dozen or so premier league games this season and West Ham are by far the worst team I have seen.

Cole has lost the plot..play the youngsters..Stanislas, Collison, Hines..at least they will work hard.

All I took from this game is the sight of Scott Parker getting the ball, taking two steps forward and then running in circles... Zero points from 4 games is imminent then what. They have made no signings of any significance so how are they going to get better??? The players will throw in the towel even before the clocks change!!! Grant is not the man - he has an expression of gloom on his face even when he is happy. I am also tired of the two Davids, they seem to be more interested in relocating the team than results!!!
It's going to be a long year!!!

Hi Billy

Can you explain what our new signings are doing because they are not getting much playing time. In particular Hitzlsperger, Ben-Haim, Reid - had they been bought pending the sale of Upson, Parker, Cole etc? I hope we havent been buying players who are not better than what we have - that isnt going to help much.

Blagg: No mate, they have been bought because at any given time at least half the squad will be unfit!

Billy Blagg Born at an early age a mere defenders' spit from the Boleyn ground, Billy Blagg has seen every West Ham game from 1898 onwards. Blagg was mentioned by Kenneth Wolstenholme in 1966 as one of the people on the pitch during the famous Hammers win over West Germany that lifted the World Cup and he returned to the pitch again for the 1975 FA Cup Final but stayed on the terrace for 1980 FA Cup victory. Blagg, 26, now lives with his eighth wife and innumerable children in a small semi-detached with chintz curtains in Dagenham, Essex and still attends every Hammers match and training session.
