West Bromwich Albion

Chelsea were okay, Manchester United weren't much better, Spurs lost at home and Arsenal only just scraped past Blackburn. In short, it's time for one of English football's big teams to step up. It's Anfield, it's coming off the back of a big win in the cup, it's West Brom's time to shine (you'll realise what The Blog's done there and you'll think: "oh, The Blog's good, It's very, very good")

Both teams are coming into today's game off the back of midweek cup wins - West Brom over Leyton Orient and Liverpool over Trabzonspor - but both rested players, clearly targeting today's game.

There is little doubt though, that it is Liverpool who need to win more. Roy Hodgson's side currently have less points than West Brom having capitulated against Manchester City two days after the Baggies beat Sunderland at the Hawthorns. Dropping points to one of the Premier League's minnows would not go down well.

Liverpool supporters may well take solace from the fact that West Brom have not scored against Liverpool in the last eight Premier League matches between the two sides, but these boots were made for walking that record will inevitably, at some point, surely come to an end.

The Blog will be doing a liveblog on the game. Why has It put this in a separate post? Because it wants more hits - you think you're better than It? You might well be, but It doesn't care.

About
David Young Matthew Evans: I've supported West Brom all my life, and it's fair to say that they give me my fair share of ups and downs. I'm always guaranteed an emotional rollercoaster of a season whatever division the Baggies are in. I try to remain positive in my views on Albion, although that is impossible at some points. My favourite Albion player of the moment is Youssuff Mulumbu, and of my lifetime it has to be Super Bob Taylor. You can follow me on twitter @MattEvansWBA
