It looks like most of my optimism from yesterday was unfounded, as the Swans were nullified by David Moyes expert tactics. A loss at this point in the season shouldn't worry the Swans too much, and four in a row was always a lofty goal for a newly promoted team.

It's amazing what one result can do. Beating Man City was certainly impressive but the three points taken at Craven Cottage have vaulted Swansea into conversations about European football and eighth spot in the table. With the form Swansea are in at the moment, and a slumping Everton side next on the slate, perhaps talk of Europe isn't all that far fetched.

After a recent article in The Sun newspaper showed that Swansea would be sixth in the table based on performances so far this calendar year, I began to wonder what a similar experiment might show.

Following the superb victory over Man City, I have put together a mini league table based solely on the three promoted teams results versus big six opposition. Here's what I found...

With two perfect strikes Gylfi Sigurdsson practically put number 42 shirts on back order at the Swans club shop until next year... but will Sigurdsson still be wearing a Swans shirt come next season? And is Nathan Dyer's three game suspension too much?
