The most eagerly anticipated home fixture of the Swans maiden Premier League season has come and gone, and whilst the Swans couldn't pull off a miracle victory or steal a draw, losing by a single goal was perhaps the noblest realistic result possible.

It is hard to come up with enough superlatives to describe Swansea's performance against Liverpool, and since I'm writing this a little late after the fact, it seems pointless to regurgitate the same sentiments that have been flowing freely since Saturday. Suffice it to say, the Swans put in an excellent performance, and once again took visible strides towards becoming a legitimate long-term proposition as a top flight club.

The Swans recovery following a humbling loss to Norwich City three weeks ago has demonstrated the underlying steel Brendan Rodgers has been manufacturing in his charges since taking over the reigns of the club. The Swans put on a clinical display at Wolves a week after the loss, only to be forced to settle for a draw after the sort of meltdown that might put other teams into a tailspin until Christmas. Not the Swans. Instead, Brendan's boys returned home to comfortably demolish a pretty decent Bolton Wanderers team, 3-1.
