At the start of the season I wrote a blog called 'Will the Swans sink or swim?', where I imagined what might happen in the Swans first Premier League season; how the team would get on, which players would stand out and so on. With the season in the books and the Swans safe, I thought it would be fun to look back on those predictions and see how I did...

The Liverpool players might be used to hearing the Kop belt out 'You'll Never Walk Alone', but Sunday afternoon's final game of the season will feature an entirely different sensation - several hundred Elvises (or should that be Elivi) singing "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You". Possibly several thousand.

Straight on the back of securing mathematical Premier League safety, the Swans have unveiled their new away kit for next season, and it's a beauty.

With the season coming to a close, the Swans can afford to watch the relegation fight they were supposed to be involved in from the safe seats in the middle of the table.

As such, the Swans will be among the teams that might have an interest in cherry picking players from the relegated sides to bolster their own squad for next season.

I've been waiting in the aftermath of Swansea's solid three nil win over Blackburn for some sort of epiphany to share with you regarding their performance, but nothing has come. This might be due to the fact the Swans victory was not an anomaly, a work of special inspiration or against the odds. It was simply a good side getting back on track after a slump.

I'd previously wondered whether a couple of losses meant the wheels were starting to come off Brendan's bus. After a fourth loss in a row, it's hard to argue that they're not. What's going wrong, and how can the Swans fix it?

A week after conceding only their third home defeat all season, the Swans were beaten away by Spurs. The defeat marked just the second time the Swans have lost two consecutive games this season, but such streaks were something Brendan's men managed to avoid until the end of February. Does this mean the wheels are starting to come off?

It looks like most of my optimism from yesterday was unfounded, as the Swans were nullified by David Moyes expert tactics. A loss at this point in the season shouldn't worry the Swans too much, and four in a row was always a lofty goal for a newly promoted team.

It's amazing what one result can do. Beating Man City was certainly impressive but the three points taken at Craven Cottage have vaulted Swansea into conversations about European football and eighth spot in the table. With the form Swansea are in at the moment, and a slumping Everton side next on the slate, perhaps talk of Europe isn't all that far fetched.

After a recent article in The Sun newspaper showed that Swansea would be sixth in the table based on performances so far this calendar year, I began to wonder what a similar experiment might show.

Following the superb victory over Man City, I have put together a mini league table based solely on the three promoted teams results versus big six opposition. Here's what I found...
