Tony Pulis today brought an end to a surprisingly long chase by finally signing Ipswich's (former) captain Jon Walters.

Pulis concluded another chase of mountie proportions by adding Walters to the Stoke City squad. The manager has long admired the striker cum winger and this signing at a not exactly cheap £2.75m plus add ons has been met with little enthusiasm amongst the Potters faithful.

Kenwyne Jones has signed for Stoke City tonight for a club record fee of £8m. Pulis has been after Jones for years and much like a Canadian Mountie, today he finally got his man in a move that could kickstart many more.

Reports are surfacing to suggest that Joe Ledley has favoured a move to Celtic park over the Potteries and whilst the move hasn’t taken place yet, it looks to be in the final stages and unless he has a late change of heart will be lining up in the Green and White Hoops against the likes of the mighty St Johnstone, Hamilton and Kilmarnock.

Stoke City tonight were on the verge of confirming a sucker punch to their relegation rivals by announcing the double signing of Robert Huth and Sanli Tuncay as Muhammad Ali wasn't the only big name frequenting the Britannia this afternoon. Unconfirmed reports from various news outlets suggest Pulis has pulled off a masterstroke by actually confirming the audacious £11m swoop on Middlesborough.
