Jermaine Pennant today become a full time Potter as he put pen to paper on a two and a half year contract for an initial fee of £1.725 million.

It's the news we have all been praying for and it came today at a price far removed from the unrealistic £6m Real Zaragoza had initially demanded for the services of the former Arsenal and Liverpool wide man.

Jermaine has been little short of a revelation since his introduction on the right, he has brought the intelligence and flair that berth deserves and more importantly the balance the side so desperately needed. Etherington has long been the quick out ball and I think that this was somewhat of burden on him so it's great news that we can now mix it down either flank for the longer term with this signing.

It's been a breath of fresh air to see a player playing with a big grin on his face and it's clear to all that Jermaine has enjoyed his spell here and has fit right into the dressing room and indeed the hearts of the Stoke faithful.

"The supporters, players and management have been absolutely fantastic to me over these past four months and I desperately wanted to stay here because I love it so much"

Apologies for the lack of updates over the festive period, things will be back to normal after the Everton game.
