Stoke may have come away with 0 points from Stamford Bridge but their were plenty of positives to take, not least the fact our goals against column took less of a battering than most expected.

Chris Foy was the talking point after a resilient and encouraging second half Stoke performance as he denied Jon Walters a debut goal by failing to allow a 90th minute goal which every man and his dog could see was over the line.

Tony Pulis today brought an end to a surprisingly long chase by finally signing Ipswich's (former) captain Jon Walters.

Pulis concluded another chase of mountie proportions by adding Walters to the Stoke City squad. The manager has long admired the striker cum winger and this signing at a not exactly cheap £2.75m plus add ons has been met with little enthusiasm amongst the Potters faithful.

Stoke City lost 2-1 to rivals Wolves in a game marred by a horrible looking injury to record signing Kenwyne Jones as he crumpled under a hard challenge by Stoke old boy Jody Craddock.

Kenwyne Jones has signed for Stoke City tonight for a club record fee of £8m. Pulis has been after Jones for years and much like a Canadian Mountie, today he finally got his man in a move that could kickstart many more.

Loic Remy has been in Stoke all day and is rumoured to be undergoing a medical late this afternoon as City attempt to steal a march on the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham to land the much coveted Frenchman.
