Ivica Dragutinovic will miss this years World Cup finals after tearing his Achilles in a Sevilla training session.

The Sevilla defender was a key part of Serbia's qualifying campaign and he will be a big loss to the side. Although there is adequate cover, Drago was an insirational part of the squad. His excellent runs down the wing and fantastic crosses will be missed.

Drago was a key player for both club and country. His club side Sevilla is on route for a UEFA Champions league spot with Drago having played an integral part.

The 34 year old was in his prime and this will all but end his international career, not the way he would have wished for. David Beckham feels his pain having suffered the same injury with the same consequences.

He will head to Finland to be examined by a prestigious surgeon who specialises in these type of injuries.

A big shame for all Serbia fans.

Sad indeed, Drago has been very impressive when I've seen him play for Sevilla. His setpiece delivery is pretty good and I'm sure his familiarity with the Serbian defensive line would have been hugely valuable.
