Wow, where to start? With Real Madrid you're never short on things to talk about, but this week is certainly up there with the busiest of them since I've been writing this blog.

A last-minute leveller from Malaga to deny Los Blancos a win at the Bernabeu last weekend, another dropping of points in a 1-1 draw at Villarreal in midweek, which included four sendings-off for Madrid - two on the pitch and two off it - all of which has allowed Barcelona an unlikely route back into the Liga title race. Add to that the media black-out that followed the game at El Madrigal and the decision not to hold a press conference before this weekend's game against Sociedad.

It's just another week at the Bernabeu. Oh, did I forget to mention Madrid have announced plans to build their own island, too?

Another week, another broad smile on the face of Madridistas as a write this blog. Victory at Betis to retain the ten-point gap at the top of La Liga, Champions League progression thanks to a 4-1 win over CSKA and a favourable draw in the next round against APOEL.

Everything's looking rosy at the Santiago Bernabeu. Heck, Jose Mourinho even looks likely to stay in Madrid beyond the end of this season, whatever happens, going on the noises coming from players and Madrid officials this week. Is everything clicking into place at just the right time?

I know this post is a couple of days late, but - Happy Birthday Real Madrid! Los Blancos celebrated their 110th birthday on Tuesday in style - ten points clear at the top of La Liga and still on course to win the Champions League and complete a memorable double for Madridistas this season.

I have to admit, I didn't even realise Madrid were celebrating that milestone this week, this despite being over there watching the Espanyol game at the weekend. Shame on me, I know, but Madrid were hardly pushing the celebrations before or during Sunday's match - but maybe that's just down to my poor Spanish.
