Entering the match as a substitute after halftime, Kaka supplied a much-needed spark for Pellegrini's side on Saturday. After a lackluster, scoreless first half against newly promoted Tenerife, the Chilean manager opted to make two changes at the break. The introduction of the Brazilian international changed the tempo of the match completely, breathing life into a very casual Madrid squad. Providing a new level of creativity and imagination, Tenerife could not find an answer to slowing Kaka and his playmaking.
In the first half Real seldom looked like a team contending for multiple trophies, creating only one true opportunity. To Tenerife's credit, the club from the Canary Islands executed their game plan perfectly throughout the first forty-five minutes. Shutting down Xabi Alonso in the middle while pressuring Casillas with quick shots, Jose Luis Oltra had his team on terms against one of the most lethal attacking squads in Europe.
Nonetheless, two minutes into the second half, Real put themselves ahead, courtesy of a well finished header from Karim Benzema. After a poorly executed corner, Alonso salvaged the chance, saving the ball on the left flank and crossing onto the waiting head of the French international. Ten minutes later, Benzema would double his total and Real's lead, taking advantage of very careless Tenerife defending. Kaka's presence on the pitch provided Los Blancos with a new found sense of energy that was nonexistent while the Brazilian was on the sideline. Thirteen minutes from time, the midfielder controlled a deflected shot and assertively finished to increase Madrid's advantage to three. Confident from their first Real goals this past week, Benzema and Kaka fired Madrid through to another three points, level with Barcelona at the top of the table.
At the end of the day, it is the victory and three points that are important; however, Tenerife again exposed some defensive weaknesses that exist. Ramos left the game at the break as precaution but the back line looked atrocious throughout the match. Tenerife had many fantastic opportunities via careless defending to get themselves back into the game. Casillas was on form, except for one lackadaisical punch that should have lead to a goal, rescuing his defenders multiple times.
Tenerife's strikers were allowed too much space at the top of the area, usually given ample time to fire on target. While Tenerife were unable to finish said chances, it should be an eye opener to Pellegrini that the back line needs to be tightened. Those opportunities, to more competent strikers, could have easy cost Madrid a positive result. With that being said, Real have not conceded a goal since their first match against Deportivo. 401 minutes without surrendering a goal is impressive but a combination of the world's best keeper and a bit of luck has made the Real defence look better than they have played.
Fifteen points after five games is what matters but there is still work to be done in the Spanish capital if Real Madrid wish to be serious contenders domestically as well as in Europe. A midweek Champions League fixture against Marseille at the Bernabeu followed by a trip to the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan to face a tough Sevilla team will take Real into a two week break as players report for their penultimate round (save the final round which will decide the final spots in South Africa via intercontinental home and away matches) of international duty for the 2010 World Cup qualifying.

Kaka needs to be deployed in a more centralized role to get the best out of him i.e. behind the strikers as opposed to right wing. Great to see him score a vintage Milan goal.
Play Alonso and Diarra as the holding defensive mids - further reinforces a promising defense.

i think kaka should be placed behind the strikers to enable him have thoes perfect touches he had while i milan furthermore, the back line is still vulnerable. it needs urgent attention! well the team has being great so far, we stil need concentration.best of wishes in the match ahead

it is undeniably evident that the galacticos are a team to watch this time around both in la liga and the champions league. we have the finest in Kaka and Christiano.

Christiano is best player, but kaka is the greatest player, bc Christiano's game is mostly solo & selfish, but kaka is not like him,he creates chances for team, boosts the team & at particular time he plays attacking shots for team not for himself..
But anyways both are justifying their roles...
My best wishes with both of them.....
