Premier Fantasy

I am such an idiot! I salute fantasy managers who used their heads to pick up points this weekend.

I had five transfers left and 1.5 million surplus budget to spend. I brought in Jonas Olsson to replace injured Younes Kaboul but made no other changes for the reduced number of fixtures. Olsson’s WBA mates registered a clean sheet against QPR, but the six points I should have picked up were lost when the Swede pulled a groinie during warmups and never played. I could have transferred out Yakubu and Dempsey for the week and brought in Aguero or Tevez. Dempsey would have returned the following week.
As much as I despise the round mound of Carlito, to succeed in fantasy play you have to play with your head and not your heart.
Carlito returned 17 points (34 if the captain) and Aguero got 11 (22 with the arm band). My result for Saturday was a pathetic three points from the Yak who was pulled in the 62nd minute.
Oh, by the way, for next week, I have Carlito against Wolves along with Rooney and RvP. Adios and thanks for your brace last week Yak, but you should have had a hat trick. I think your PK has finally reached the net.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, wouldn’t we have a Merry Christmas?
