Congratulations to fantasy managers who transferred in Juan Mata.

In limited minutes and not being that familiar with Chelsea's system and teammates, Mata was sensational and rewarded fantasy managers with seven points. The match changed as soon as he and Romelu Lukaku came on as subs. Mata may be the distributor Chelsea needs and the answer to Man City's David Silva. Mata was unselfish and then scored (even though Lukaku was wide open in front of the net). Look for his fantasy salary to increase. Sir John lacks .2 in budget to transfer him in.

Romelu Lukaku could be the heir apparent to Drogba whose collision and fall were horrific. Thankfully Didier did not land on his head or on an angle and all football fans wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Even though Chelsea won, their first three matches of the season reflect a team and new manager searching for an identity. One of those players still in a fog is Torres who so far is an EPL and fantasy failure. His single bright moment for the game before being pulled was missing a header after getting a nifty pass from Mata.

Finally, for those who have blasted me for my negative thoughts on Ramires, let the record show that Sir John was impressed with the Brazilian's performance today.

Yours faithfully,
Sir John

Mata looked so good that I made another transfer just to free up enough budget to bring him in. He is the only midfielder not on United or City that I own (and maybe the only non-Manchester midfielder worth owning this season, would you agree?).

Comment:
Mata is an extraordinary talent; however, he has to go a long way to be as impressive as Silva. In addition, Nasri looked very comfortable and certainly will be getting his share of assists. Remember, assists count 3 points this year instead of four.

Actually, I think Ashley Young may bring even more fantasy points than Silva, Nasri or Mata. So far, I think he looks to be the best transfer of the season.
As always, a key will remain, who will stay injury free?

AVB
PLEASE USE STURRIDGE TOO
HE CAN MAKE A BIG IMPACT
THE NEW SIGNING SUCH MATA AND LUKAKU MUST GAIN EXPERIENCE FROM SENIOR SQUAD
MORE THAN THAT
THEY MUST IN THE FIRST TEAM TOO

Comment:
I look for Mata to be in the lineup as a regular and agree that Sturridge and Lukaku need playing time. Lukaku will be Drogba's eventual successor.

Dude, right on there brother.

Comment:
I have brought Torres into my team and am gambling that he has rediscovered his form and will go on a goal-scoring binge--hopefully getting many assists from Mata.
