Portsmouth

Losing last week to Tottenham stung, I won't lie. But a draw with Hull City, really didn't do anything for me. And I'm starting to wonder if the lads are feeling indifferent.

The ESPNSoccernet match report summed it up rather brilliantly, "Hull and Portsmouth settled for a point apiece from a dismal Premier League basement scrap."

Chances were scarce and goodness it was dull. And that's coming from someone that enjoys county championship cricket, it takes quite a lot to bore me. But, Hull and Pompey succeeded.

It was yet another performance that could have been more, but wasn't for one reason or another. Honestly, I thought that Hull with all their poor form, and a manager no one wants to play for, and their backroom issues, that we could at least play well against them.

But I think that it's a sign, not of a lack of quality because I've said before that I think we are a good team, but instead a sign of the indifference that has settled in at Fratton Park. A resignation if you will, resignation to the fact that we'll be relegated at the end of the year. Resignation to the fact that we face several "rebuilding" seasons languishing in the lower divisions. Resignation to being a joke until May when finally a dismal season is put out of its misery.

Hermann Hreidarsson is expected to make his return this week, and I think he'll be a boost, not only to the general performance of the squad but also to the attitude. My grandfather will tell anyone that will listen that attitude is what wins championships, obviously a title is a little out of reach but that doesn't mean we can't stay in the Premier League, it doesn't mean that we can't at least make it close.

Hreidarsson, in my opinion has the potential to be pivotal in our campaign to stay afloat. Look for him to play a big role if he's fit.

judging by the amount of comments so far i would say that most people are indifferent to the fates of both portsmouth and hull..

The Hermanator definitely brings a much needed spark to a lack-luster team. The mans got the passion that hopefully will spread throughout the newcomers, who really don't seem to care what they're fighting for.

As a Rovers fan, I think you can be more hopeful. Looking at the way they celebrated at Wolves - I'd think they are very committed.

Spurs are a class side so it wasn't a bad loss, though Hull was certainly winnable.

However, that was before the takeover messed was cleared. Now, especially with Storrie still in charge, indifference is the last thing I'd imagine. But I'm not a Pompey fan...

I really believe that Pompey is on the way up. With a softer part of the schedule ahead and having scored 8 goals in the past two games, I believe things are starting to click for Piquionne and Dindane under Paul Hart. The draw at Hull was a game which Pompey dominated, but just couldn't get it in the net. In american football you see a team start to click a couple weeks before they go on a tear, and that is what I am seeing out of Pompey. In a few weeks I believe they will have a few more wins, and should push to 15th or 16th position in the EPL. Play up Pompey, Play Up!

-Probably the only Pompey fan in North Carolina
