Paper Round

So after a mauling at the hands of Man Utd, one would imagine Arsene Wenger is now fairly keen to add some experience, maybe write a few cheques to improve his young side this summer. Not so. In fact, Wenger has cited the likes of Nicklas Bendtner as proof that he doesn't have to! Oh dear.

The Sun have the news that most Arsenal fans will be dreading to hear: that Wenger is still as stubborn as ever when it comes to transfers.

''What am I supposed to do, kick out a quality young player like Walcott, Fabregas, Diaby or Bendtner who is already in his national team?'', says the French boss. Well, certainly one out of the four wouldn't be missed.

One team certain to make waves in the transfer market is Chelsea and they've already started things off by keeping referee-baiter Michael Ballack at the club for another year. The Times report that the German has been offered a new one-year deal worth £121,000 a week. Given his recent actions it seems a strange reward. We can only hope UEFA fine him a similar sum once the dust has settled from Stamford Bridge.

Heading over to Spain, but Madrid (not Barcelona). If you can read Spanish, then Marca have the news that Raul is not keen on a move to Man City. It's ok if you can't, because his quotes go a little something like this: "But I've not really considered it because I would be mad to leave here. I'm only interested in finishing my career with Real." Roughly translated as: ''I've not considered it because I'd be mad to join City. I'm not interested in the money and I want to finish my career while I'm not a laughing stock.''

Naturally, Diego Milito now wants to join every club in England. Having turned down the chance to make his name in Blighty back in the summer, old Diego popped off to the Serie A to bag himself a few goals before now changing his mind. The Daily Mail would love to think that Spurs and Man City are heading the list, with the Argentine's price tag (and wage demands) now considerably higher than they were 8 months ago.

While Alan Shearer is busy wondering how the club got themselves into their current situation, it appears the board have other things on their mind. Waving a four-year contract in front of Al's face is probably not the best plan when he should be concentrating on keeping the club up, but the Daily Telegraph reckon that's exactly what's going on. Never let it be said the Toon owner makes silly decisions.

And finally, heading back to Arsenal, yet another reason to doubt Le Prof's recent reasoning. The Sun claim Wenger has defended Nicklas Bendtner's night-time indiscretion by saying he was NOT drunk! Putting aside the thought of a Premier League football staying stone cold sober all night for a minute, you have to wonder at the Frenchman's logic. 4am, plus nightclub, plus trousers round ankles. Seems a fairly simple equation to me.

After the 3-1 mauling of Arsenal by United, Arsene Wenger felt that was the most humiliating defeat he has ever met. How does Bendtner fit in his remedy to prevent a repeat of such a defeat?

Arsenal is a team that gets talent at a young age and makes them into great footballers..BUT BENTDNER DOES NOT DESERVES TO BE A GUNNERS.!!WE CAN EASILY COUNT HOW MANY HE TOUCHES THE BALL IN A SINGLE GAME!!IN FACTS, WHENEVER HE GOT THE BALL,HE PASSES IT TO THE OPPONENTS!! KICK BENTDNER OUT OF THE FIELD!! IM NO LONGER A GUNNERS FAN SINCE HE IS THE 1ST ELEVEN..

arsene wenger had better think again. he should not toy with the emotion of ardent arsenal fans next season. he should put sentiments aside and do the right thing

Mr Wenger, we are not asking you to kick out any of the talented player. What are your plans to resolve the current situations? You seems like using the old days methods to resolve the current situations. The position left by Thierry Henry, Patrick Viera, Pires, David Seaman, Sol Campel, Ashley Code, Dennis, etc are filled correctly? You keep let us down. Isn't Man Utd are filled with young players? Why they can succeed? Why arent' Arsenal? Your young talented is not quipped with good mentality.

Arsene Wenger is still stubborn..Arsenal really need a quality striker like David Villa,Tevez or Fernando Torres..Bendtner and Adebayor wouldnt be enough to fire a team with strong defence like man utd and chelsea..Wenger should think again..He should not upset his fans for another season

I find it hard to understand what Wenger sees in certain players and why he makes certain selections. Pls is there anyone esle looking from Wenger's perspective that can explain why he insists on the likes of Bendtner & Diaby???

Mr. Wenger need to do sommething about the defence, the middle and try to have a shape striker. Secondly, Wenger don't make changes at the appriotrate time even when he sees the needs. However. the blame goes to the Board, the Board had the power to force Wenger to do something but they just keep silent as if they appreciated what is happening
