The Sunday newspapers are full of tales of unlikely returns with Thierry Henry and David Beckham both linked with moves back to Premier League.
The Sunday Express claim that Henry could make an emotional return to Arsenal after his contract ends at Barcelona and could even take over from manager Arsene Wenger when he quits the Emirates.
The bombshell came as Wenger announced that Henry still loves Arsenal so much that he continues to watch ALL the Gunners games - including the reserves.
Talking about Henry's possible return to the Gunners Wenger said: "It would be difficult as a player because in 2010 he will be 33 and I think he still has one or two years to go on his contract at Barcelona. But he has a very strong link with this club and was a massive influence here."
Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror report that Beckham could be on his way back to England with AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti hoping to take the midfielder with him in a switch to Chelsea.
Milan are expected to announce tomorrow that Ancelotti is leaving, paving the way for him to succeed Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge this summer. Ancelotti was the driving force behind Becks’ loan move to Milan in January and a source close to the coach said: “The first thing Carlo will do is try to negotiate a deal to take Beckham with him.
“There has been a lot of talk about various players, including Kaka, following him to Chelsea but he is confident he can sort out a deal to take Beckham on loan from LA Galaxy.”
Over at Anfield England international Glen Johnson has caught the eye of Rafa Benitez, but the Liverpool manager will have to do battle with Bayern Munich to sign the Portsmouth full-back, according to The People.
The Reds boss is willing to spend £15m on the former Chelsea defender but Bundesliga giants Bayern are also monitoring Johnson and are ready for an auction against Liverpool, who are also weighing up a bid for Heerenveen winger Daniel Pranjic.
On Saturday The Sun told us that Cristiano Ronaldo was off to Real Madrid but today their sister newspaper the News Of The World reveals that the world player of the year is in fact staying at Manchester United.
What's more they actually have quotes from the 24-year-old saying he wants to stay at Old Trafford. "This is my home now," Ronaldo said. "I think even when I say my heart is here, people are still going to speak and make things up. But this is where I want to play."
But while United's recent success is enough to keep Ronaldo at the club, manager Sir Alex Ferguson is resgined to losing Argentina striker Carlos Tevez in the transfer window, according to the Mail on Sunday.
Kia Joorabchian, who represents the offshore companies who own the player's economic rights, wants £25million for the player to sign a new contract at the end of his two-year loan deal.
Ferguson said: "It is a difficult situation which we are still trying to sort out. There's not a lot we can do if he decides to go. It will depend on which club can offer the deal his representatives are looking for."
And finally... the Daily Star Sunday report that French striker Djibril Cisse is closing down his classy Newcastle clothes shop The Pr9ject - sparking fears that he will be leaving Sunderland in the summer.
