There may not be a war of words going on between Rafael Benitez and Sir Alex Ferguson (well, that's what Rafa says before launching into another tirade) but there could be a new war over a player.
Remember that long saga over Gabriel Heinze and his wish to move from Man Utd to Liverpool? Well now it could be Carlos Tevez who moves over. And this time he won't be Sir Alex's player and won't be able to block it.
The Times thinks Liverpool "will join Chelsea, Manchester City and Inter Milan in the mêlée for his signature". Now wouldn't that make Sir Alex smile! However, it should be noted there's no quotes or any proof whatsoever - but when has that stopped the rumour mill?
Down in London, and the never-ending Carlo Ancelotti "will he, won't he" saga continues to rumble on. The Daily Star, though, believes that the end could be in sight, and that he has already said "Yes" to moneybags Roman. Again, no quotes or any proof whatsoever.
And remember The Times added further weight to the story on Thursday, with David Beckham revealing Mr A has been learning English.
Jose Mourinho, of course, has long been linked with making a raid on his former friends at the Bridge. And the Daily Mirror is of the opinion that Jose could make a move for Deco in the summer, a player who's done nothing since August.
Another bit of transfer talk now and Liverpool's OAP centre-back Sami Hyypia is tipped to leave in the summer. And The Sun believes there will be a real battle for his signature involving Sunderland and Blackburn. You could call it, er, hmm, a fight to the Finnish!
And Blackburn could be busy, as The Daily Mirror has Big Sam making a move for Achille Emana of Real Betis.
You have to feel a little sorry for Manchester City's great young goalkeeper Joe Hart, who has been left in the shadows following the signature of Shay Given. The Daily Mirror is tipping him to spend next season at Birmingham City, as long as they confirm their return to the Premier League.
Plus Titus Bramble, once of weekly ridicule but now turned into a player of some repute by Steve Bruce, will be offered a new four-year deal. And the Daily Mirror tips Bruce to move for Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne, too. Great name. The same paper suggests Rodrigo Possebon could spend a year at Wolves from Manchester United.
And finally, it seems the MLS got their way and will be swimming in around £7m from the extension to David Beckham's loan deal with AC Milan. It's in most rags, but we'll send you to the Daily Mail.

RB should buy David Villa or Carlos Tevez to partner F Torres. Left midfielder should be David Silva for his attacking flair. Glen Johnson for right defender role...
