Paper Round

Chelsea fans won't need any extra hype to build their excitement ahead of Tuesday night's UEFA Champions League semi-final with Barcelona, but that's not going to stop the UK's papers from having a go.

In the Sun it is reported that both Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink and Barcelona counterpart Pep Guardiola have both vowed to go for goals, which if true could result in a stunning game.

In the Daily Mirror Hiddink is quoted as having told Chelsea: "If you have the courage, your power will blow Barcelona away." The Daily Express report that Hiddink has told Chelsea they must be brave as they are facing the best team in the world. And in the Guardian Hiddink has called on his players to prove they have "the guts" to take the initiative and fire Chelsea closer to a second successive Champions League final.

Geeing up your team is one thing, but over-confidence is another, something that seems not to worry Jose Bosingwa who has told the Daily Mail he's not worried about standing in for the suspended Ashely Cole and the pressure of marking Lionel Messi. Bosingwa said: "I do not fear the Argentine"... strange, everyone else does.

In other Barca news The Times are just one paper who claim the Catalan giants have held talks with Manchester City about the transfer of Samuel Eto'o. The Telegraph are on the story as well and claim a British transfer record fee of £40m could see a deal this summer.

There's also plenty of reaction to Newcastle's 0-0 draw on Monday night with Portsmouth, the Mirror says Newcastle "took a major step towards relegation" thanks to Michael Owen's inability to finish, while the Daily Star have gone out on a limb saying the Toon will be in the Championship "unless they can produce a miracle in their last four games".

In other news the Independent report that the future of Portuguese winger Nani is in doubt after the man signed as Ryan Giggs replacement left Old Trafford before the end of Saturday's win over Spurs in mood having been substituted at half-time.

It could be all change at Tottenham this summer according to the Mirror. Apparanetly Didier Zokora says is ready to quit the club after losing his first-team place, while Harry Redknapp is considering ditching David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone, Gareth Bale and Jermaine Jenas in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham aren't just getting rid of players though, the Guardian report that Spurs are Man City's main rivals chasing the signature of Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz.

And finally, The Times report that former Spurs and current Hamburg boss Martin Jol has emerged as the favourite to succeed Jurgen Klinsmann, who was sacked as Bayern Munich manager on Monday.
