The rumour mill is turning again as Manchester City get themselves back in the game, but it's one player who could be leaving Eastlands that dominates the headlines.
After their attempts to sign Chelsea skipper John Terry, who by the way the Guardian claim could still be on his way in the near future, it looks like Micah Richards could be on his way out.
Evidently annoyed by all the Terry-talk, Richards has been linked with an £8m move to Aston Villa, who would just love to increase their number of young, English, highly-rated prospects. The Daily Mirror say that Richards could be tempted, but surely the club will want more than £8m for one of England's stars of the future - or is Martin O'Neill going to pick up an Ashley Young-style bargain again?
City are keen to keep one of their young upstarts though and want to tie down Stephen Ireland to a new long-term deal. The follically challenged Irishman should reap the rewards of a great season and save all the money he used to spend on hair gel, in his new giant paypacket. The Independent think he'll top £50,000 a week, although they're less sure than Daniel Sturridge will get what he wants out of the club.
Another player to get a new deal looks to be the injured Theo Walcott. The Daily Mirror reckon he'll pick up a cool £13m, £50,000 a week, five-year deal, to injure his shoulder and miss a large chunk of next season as well. Still, Arsenal will think it's better than losing him for a pittance in the summer.
Slightly further north, we have Mark Viduka ready to leave Newcastle. Having just returned to full fitness, the Australian has been told to forget a new contract after playing just five games this season, and the Daily Mail think he'd head home to play for the Melbourne Knights.
Staying with the Mail, they have an EXCLUSIVE that says Liverpool's Daniel Agger is now the subject of an Italian tug-of-war between AC Milan, Juventus and Inter. Makes a difference from the other ''tug-of-war'' currently being played out in Anfield anyway.
The first offering from today's Sun, has Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic claiming that boss Jose Mourinho will not be returning to Chelsea this summer. Although if you'd listened to Jose recently you might know that already.
And finally, a number of papers feel like stirring up the Sven-Goran Eriksson pot, claiming that he'll choose or not choose, Portsmouth as his next destination.
The Daily Telegraph say Portsmouth will take a leaf out of Chelsea's book and are willing to let Eriksson combine his Mexico work with the job at Fratton Park.
But that doesn't matter, say The Independent as he doesn't want to go anyway.
The Times claim it's all pointless as Portsmouth won't match the compensation that Mexico want. Plus he might get sacked anyway. So stand by for Avram Grant to be announced in the next few days.
