Paper Round
Posted by Dale Johnson on 02/14/2009

It's a troubled time down at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have a part-time manager, disfunctional players and are no longer in possession of the fear factor true top teams must have.

And it could get worse after the horrible financial figures announced on Friday. The Daily Telegraph has revelaed the new full time boss will not be able to splash the cash like previous managers have. It seems it will be a sell to buy policy in the summer.

Bad news for self confessed managerial magician Tony Adams. In a change to the usual post-sacking pow-wow among players - they usually insist the poor results were their fault - David James puts the boot in on his ex-boss, it's in The Sun. Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror reveals that Roberto Donadoni wants the vacant job.

In another managerial musing, The Daily Mirror is tipping Steve Bruce to take over at Newcastle United in the summer.

It seems Fabio Capllo could face his first run-in with a Premier League manager. Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is furious with the England coach after Emile Heskey suffered more ankle woe against Spain. Apparently, he should never have played. Check out The Daily Telegraph.

The Sun. reports some joy for Fabio, though, as the Premier League will end on May 9 next season - that's a week earlier than FIFA demands - ahead of the World Cup finals.

And finally, it seems money really does go to the heads of some young players. Man City striker Daniel Sturridge, just a bench man at Eastlands, is out of contract in the summer and wants £65,000-a-week, says The Times.
