Paper Round

Well, it's official, David Beckham says he wants to leave the L.A. Galaxy and join up with Milan on a permanent deal. Looks like he's persuaded Vicky as well!

The Daily Mirror claim that if the Italian club are just a little bit patient, then they can snap up the Spice Boy for free! For free! In November.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail have the unsurprising news that Becks is ready to take a paycut in order to play at the San Siro. So cash-strapped Milan aren’t willing to pay him £125m over five seasons then.

The Sun pick up on the unhappiness at Liverpool to gleefully report that fans were heard to chant ‘You’re cracking up’ at Rafa Benitez in the FA Cup defeat to Everton, while (as if there wasn’t enough to laugh about) they also report how Gerrard was injured, Lucas sent off and Torres subbed. Although that was just what happened on a bad night for the Anfield club.

Rafa’s response? ‘’I prefer to not say anything - ask the referee’’. Although Mr Wiley was not available for comment.

Elsewhere, despite finally signing for Arsenal, Andrei Arshavin is still being dogged by speculation that his deal did not go through on time. The Sun claim that Aston Villa (currently fighting the Gunners for a lucrative spot in the Champions League) are leading the calls to investigate the move and will put their concerns to the Premier League today. Although the League will most likely put two fingers in their ears and say ‘la-la-la-la-la-la’.

Having brought you the furious ‘F-word’ bust-up yesterday, the Daily Mail are now pretty sure that David Moyes has had all he can take from Victor Anichebe, with the striker set to leave Goodison as soon as possible. Joe Kinnear is reportedly interested, but only because he likes swearing.

One player Kinnear is definitely in for, claims the Independent, is Michael Johnson. He may have had an £8m bid for the crocked City midfielder rejected during the transfer window, but is sure he can get his man in the summer. Newcastle’s ‘combative midfielder’ count may yet rise to six.

The Daily Mirror think that Carlos Tevez will cement his future with Man Utd and sign a new deal. Despite all the talk of a transfer to Real Madrid.

While the Times worries that England’s upcoming international with Spain is going to be marred by more racist chanting from those lovely Spanish fans. We’re sure they’ll receive a HUGE fine this time though!

And finally, after missing Dan Gosling's goal in the Merseyside derby, British broadcaster ITV have been forced to apologise for their mistake.

Hilariously, the system is apparently not designed for live events such as football games which can over-run and delay the schedule. So not designed for any of the Champions League knockout-stage games they’ve screened, including the final, and definitely not the FA Cup which they paid £275m to show then. Almost as much of a waste of money as Robbie Keane.

Yeah, pay for telecast rights, then don't broadcast the end, because no sport game has ever run overtime right? Whoah... we didn't see that one coming. You poms are hilarious.

Wait, here's an idea... why not schedule a rerun of some random show in the hour immediately after the match, so if need be you can cancel it and noone will care. Good thing you have a genius like me around to come up with this outlandish idea eh?
