23.45 BST Well, that's all for tonight. Be sure to check back tomorrow for more transfer news.

23.27 BST Lucas Moura. Everybody wants him, but nobody can have him. At least not until after London 2012. "After the Olympics are over, I'll decide. If I stay at Sao Paulo, I'll be happy because it's the club where I started my career," said the Brazilian.

22.21 BST Rangers are close to completing deals for Dean Shiels and Greek midfielder Pantelis Kafes. "It's not over the line yet but I know in both cases there is certainly a deal to be done there," said Rangers manager Ally McCoist.

21.16 BST Kaka, Real Madrid and AC Milan will all convene on August 8 to seek common ground and clarify their positions if the Brazilian's future is still not decided by then, according to Marca.

20.20 BST Alberto Aquilani's agent has dismissed reports linking the Liverpool midfielder with a move to Fiorentina, insisting the Italian is happy at Anfield. Full story

19.30 BST Mexico coach Luis Fernando Tena has urged Giovani dos Santos to quit Tottenham Hotspur and seek regular first-team football elsewhere. Full story

18.35 BST Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim Wesley Sneijder has advised Inter to invest in Everton defender, and Holland team-mate, Johnny Heitinga.

17.44 BST Ajax are set to sign Swedish midfielder Tobias Sana from IFK Goteborg. The 23-year-old's agent, Anders Karlsson, told Fotbolldirekt: "There is a verbal agreement, then he will pass a medical."

17.02 BST The Sunday Express claim Liverpool are preparing a €20m offer for Bologna'screative midfielder Gaston Ramirez. The 21-year-old is currently in London with the Uruguayan Olympic squad.

16.39 BST Sunderland have made a move to sign Scotland striker Steven Fletcher from relegated Wolves, according to Sky Sports.

15.52 BST Juventus are set to sign Italy Under-21 international Manolo Gabbiadini from Atalanta, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. But the young striker will be immediately loaned out to Bologna.

15.39 BST: Roberto Mancini has made it clear what he expects from the transfer window: "We need to work harder than last year and buy the players who can help our team. I'm confident," he said. "We don't need big changes, not 10 players like two or three years ago - but we need three, four, five players. But they can be young guys for the future because it's important to put them in the squad and make them good like the players we already have.''

15.17 BST: Italian media are linking Man Cuty with a new £24m (€31m) move for Roma's Daniele De Rossi. More when we know it...

14.45 BST: Everton are closing on a £4 million deal to bring Steven Pienaar back to the club. An Everton source told ESPN: “We are very close now, we are in the process of agreeing personal terms.”

14.40 BST: Inter Milan are believed to be in pole position to sign Marseille's left-sided player Andre Ayew, according to reports in France and Italy. Marseille are reportedly seeking a fee of €18million for the 22-year-old, who is happy to leave if it is in the club's best interests.

14.18 BST: If you have read anywhere today that Man Utd have made a £12m bid for Everton defender Leighton Baines, then it is nonsense. No movement at all, say our sources. Read more

13.44 BST: Well this is shocking news: Brazilian wants Brazilian team-mate and former World Player of the Year at his club. "I would be very happy if Kaka returned to Milan," Robinho told Marca. "We are team-mates with the national team and we could achieve a lot together, especially now that both of us want to get ready for the 2014 World Cup."

13.24 BST: Evidently West Ham are desperate to spend some of their cash and are leading the chase for Wolves winger Matt Jarvis. However a £10 million price tag is a stumbling block to any deal.

13.11 BST: Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini said his players have been unsettled by the constant rumours of financial problems - with Santi Cazorla one such player who may move to Arsenal. "We are focused on sporting matters, but when there are so many rumours it is obvious that the team is affected, especially considering we are not in Spain," he told AS.

12.38 BST: While we're in Russia, there are reports that Spartak Moscow are the latest club to consider a move for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner.

12.27 BST: Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm is set to complete his move to CSKA Moscow, according to Voetbal International.

11.49 BST: Odd report suggesting that Theo Walcott is wanted by old club Southampton. Am sure they would be keen, but the idea of him returning to the south coast, giving up Champions League football and about £50,000-a-week in the process seems a little far fetched.

11.25 BST: West Brom will step up their hunt for Cristian Zapata after it was confirmed he is heading for the Villarreal exit door. The 25-year-old Colombia international’s agent Massimo Italiani said: “What I can say with some certainty is that he will leave Villarreal.”

11.04 BST: Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is considering a swoop for Ricardo Carvalho after the defender was deemed surplus to requirements at Real Madrid.

10.50 BST: Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will not be moving to Tottenham unless the player asks to leave."Tottenham made contact through [Lloris'] agent but there has been no concrete offer since,'' Aulas said. "I don't think they really want him, but we really want to keep him. Read more

10.31 BST: West Brom manager Steve Clarke has insisted striker Shane Long is not for sale. But Clarke admitted that Albion have rejected a bid - believed to be from Blackburn - for another Republic of Ireland international forward in Simon Cox. Long has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move back to his former club Reading. But Clarke said: "There has been nothing regarding Shaun. There have been no bids and he is not for sale. His future is with us 100%.''

10.21 BST: Galatasaray are lining up a move for AC Milan's unsettled defender Taye Taiwo, Nigerian newspaper The Nation claims.

09.56 BST: He can't get a game at Man City, but reports suggest that youngster Vladimir Weiss is set to move to Serie A with Inter Milan and Pescara battling it out for his signature.

09.45 BST: Fulham manager Martin Jol is looking to bolster his squad with at least two more signings before the transfer window closes this summer. And he would do well to keep hold of Clint Dempsey as well.

09.31 BST: Schalke chairman Clemens Tonnies has revealed the Bundesliga outfit are unlikely to sign any more players in the current transfer window.

09.18 BST: Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin insists he is not thinking of leaving the club this summer. "I wish to stay," Godin told Marca. "Adrian and Radamel Falcao are here too and like me, they hope to continue here.

09.00 BST: Our man from Italy claims that Italian media are reporting Manchester City may be ready to make another move for Roma's Daniele De Rossi. He's the one that could make a real difference according to Roberto Mancini.

08.51 BST: Papers, papers, everywhere:

The Mail on Sunday: Arsene Wenger is set to complete the signing of Santi Cazorla for £15 million by Tuesday... Villa owner Randy Lerner is ready to pick up £600m from selling his stake in his NFL side, but new boss Paul Lambert is not expecting any cash.

The People: Man Utd are considering a move for Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole... Tottenham are looking at Moussa Dembele to replace Madrid-bound Luka Modric... Everton are keen to sign Blackburn defender Grant Hanley if old Johnny Heitinga moves to Galatasaray... Southampton also want a Rovers player and are looking at either Martin Olsson or Scott Dann... Alberto Aquilani could be on his way to Fiorentina after Liverpool agreed a fee of £7 million for the Italian midfielder.

The Sun: Steven Pienaar is moving to Everton to £4 million... Luka Modric is moving closer to Real Madrid after the clubs agreed a £36 million fee... Galatasaray are stepping up their interest in Dimitar Berbatov.

08.30 BST: It's a Sunday morning and Arsenal fans may not be excited to wake up to news that Robin van Perise has chosen Man Utd as his destination this summer. Reports in a few papers say that RVP wants as much money as Wayne Rooney (£220,000-a-week) and that he is happy to move to Old Trafford if a fee can be agreed.
