17.02 BST That's all from us for day one of the blog, as the Euro 2012 final will be distracting us for the rest of the evening, but you can read through a rundown of the completed deals here. We'll be back in the morning, so join us then for all the latest transfer talk.

17.00 BST Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci has also been linked with Barcelona, and the Germany international is helping the rumour mill along. "I've heard that I'm a candidate for Barca," he said. "If an offer comes from Barcelona, you have to get together and have talks."

16.50 BST With Seydou Keita seemingly discussing a move to China, El Mundo Deportivo says Barcelona are considering various options. There's Javi Martinez, who's perhaps too expensive, plus Toulouse's Etienne Capoue and Villarreal's Bruno Soriano. Or they could promote Barca B midfielder, and reported Chelsea target, Sergi Roberto. Or perhaps Keita will stay. You probably shouldn't get overly concerned with this one for now.

16.39 BST It's not a transfer rumour, but never mind - Gianfranco Zola is reportedly set to be appointed the new Watford boss on Tuesday.

16.25 BST Sporting president Godinho Lopes has confirmed Gelson Fernandes is close to sealing a move from St Etienne. "The situation with Gelson will be resolved on Monday or Tuesday," he said.

16.13 BST Genoa’s Spanish defender Chico could be targeted by new Swansea boss Michael Laudrup, according to reports in Wales.

15.53 BST Marca reports that Lass Diarra, Fernando Gago, Ricardo Carvalho and Hamit Altintop have meetings scheduled with Jose Mourinho on July 15 over their futures. It appears they're all unwanted.

15.38 El Pais reports that Inter striker Diego Forlan has agreed to join Internacional in Brazil.

15.23 BST Lyon's France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be allowed to leave the club - but only if the price is right, president Jean-Michel Aulas has said. Click here for the full story.

15.01 BST And there's more... Hummels himself has said he does "not plan to go to Juventus" and added: "I recently renewed with Borussia Dortmund and signed a long-term contract. Honestly, right now I am not losing any sleep over the rumours about me."

15.00 BST Mats Hummels' father and agent, Hermann Hummels, has confirmed contact has taken place with Manchester United, according to El Mundo Deportivo, but said "we are not interested".

14.39 BST Genuinely big news: Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi is in Paris to complete a medical and his €30 million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.

14.23 BST And right here you can find the full story regarding Mancini's words on RVP. This one could run and run, as 'they' say.

13.59 BST It wouldn't be the transfer blog without further mention of Van Persie. Indeed, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has appeared to suggest that he is unlikely to sign the Arsenal forward this summer.

13.34 BST Well, this is a bit unexpected. Le Parisien claims Paris Saint-Germain are eyeing a £10 million deal for Chelsea skipper John Terry. Leonardo, director of football at PSG, told the French daily, “He [Terry] is very close to Ancelotti, but that is all.” Sacrebleu.

13.16 BST A story from Europe via La Gazzetta dello Sport, who report Inter Milan could target Udinese goalkeeper Samir Handanovic, amid suggestions Julio Cesar is unsettled at the club.

12.50 BST Pranjic hopes for Everton move - here's the full story.

12.21 BST Not blockbuster stuff, but here goes: West Brom boss Steve Clarke is determined to keep hold of strikers Peter Odemwingie and Shane Long this summer.

12.02 BST Sportske Novosti says free agent Danijel Pranjic is interesting clubs in the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey, France and Italy, but he has told the paper he could still make the move to Everton.

11.46 BST For a round-up of all the done deals, click this way, ladies and gentlemen.

11.27 BST Further conjecture in the People: Frank Lampard has been offered a £13 million two-year deal to link up with David Beckham at LA Galaxy.

11.18 BST Leighton Baines, here, on the rumours linking him with Manchester United: "I've been aware of what's been said in the press but I don't know much beyond that. It doesn't do any harm [to be linked] but it doesn't do any good either. It's just one of those things that tends to swing around this time of year. People put two and two together sometimes they get four and sometimes they get three or five. It gets other people more excited than those involved."

11.07 BST Fulham have announced Portuguese striker Orlando Sa has left the club by mutual consent.

10.50 BST: A little more on the Maicon to Chelsea stuff: Marca believes the Blues have moved ahead of Real Madrid in the race for the right back. The paper reports: "Abramovich has practically finalised a deal for the player... Marca can reveal that Real Madrid approached Inter Milan to enquire about the player’s situation, but things went no further. José Mourinho has been the most interested in signing Maicon, but the club had major doubts about signing him due to his age (almost 31 years old) and his high wages."

10.42 BST: The Sunday Express says, in addition to Gylfi Sigurdsson and Joao Moutinho, incoming Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas wants to sign... Theo Walcott from Arsenal. That doesn't sound massively likely.

10.37 BST: Interesting one here: Chievo director of sport Giovanni Sartori has confirmed Roma are in talks to sign USA midfielder Michael Bradley. “He would be enthusiastic at the idea of playing for a big club like Roma,” Sartori told Calciomercatoweb. “Besides, who wouldn’t want to be trained by Zdenek Zeman? Roma do not have the player, though, as Inter and Juventus like him too.”

10.27 BST: Tuttosport seems to think Inter will accept an €8 million bid from Chelsea for Maicon.

10.09 BST And here's the full story on McCartney's return to West Ham.

09.55 BST France Football reports that Luuk de Jong has joined Borussia Mönchengladbach from FC Twente, having recently been linked with Newcastle.

09.35 BST - DONE DEAL West Ham have signed George McCartney from Sunderland on a two-year deal.

09.29 BST Former AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi is a target for new A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers and would happily consider a move to Australia, according to his representative. Full story.

09.13 BST Daily Star: Adam Johnson's future at City will be decided this coming week ahead of talks with manager Roberto Mancini ... Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers is lining up a move for France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

08.54 The Daily Mirror: Whether Manchester City make a move for Robin van Persie depends on if they can sell Emmanuel Adebayor ... City have also put an £80 million price tag on star player David Silva in the hope it will deter reported suitors Real Madrid ... Arsenal are to pull out of a deal for Yann M'Vila ... Manchester United remain interested in Everton left back Leighton Baines.

08.30 BST The Sun: Gylfi Sigurdsson will decide whether to join Liverpool or Tottenham on Sunday. The Hoffenheim midfielder's father, Sigurdur Adalsteinsson, has said: "He is thinking what is best to do" ... Manchester City are prepared to listen to offers for former captain Kolo Toure.

08.15 BST We're about to bring you our first newspaper round-up of the summer. In the meantime, we shall bring you news, of the real form.

Indeed, Clarence Seedorf has signed a two-year deal with Botafogo, the Brazilian club confirming the deal on Saturday evening.

Seedorf, 36, who ended a ten-year stint at AC Milan this summer, has been given what Botafogo claim is the most lucrative deal ever handed out to a foreign player in Brazil.

Sunday, July 1, 2012 - the opening of the summer transfer window, and with it the return of our On The Move blog. Hold on to your hats, people.

At man u we dont need big signings

Posted by Boitumelo on 07/01/2012

I don't think that Robin van persie should move to Man City. That would mean that Man City would have four strikers,Aguero,Balotelli,Teves and Van Persie. I dnt think that RVP would start every game because all those four strikers are quality strikers. If he does want to move he should move elsewhere

Let me just say, how much I missed this blog. I may be the only one, but it's the best thing when there's no footy on tap.

A bit frustrated by Liverpool failure to strengthen the squad so far. A lot of names being linked but I think we should go for Sigurdsson, Adam Johnson, Kjaer & Tello. All of them are young & world class player in the making.

Sigurdsson needs to sign with Fulham. He'll start right away and Fulham is depleted in central midfield as it, with Danny Murphy having just left on a free to blackburn. Sigurdsson plays uptop and fulham have also lost andy johnson and progrebnyak. This would be a very smart move going to Fulham for His career development and playing time, he's another Clint Dempsey in the making

Posted by Omerta on 07/01/2012

RVP link up's will be like those of Carlos Tevez in the last transfer window

Posted by Matt on 07/01/2012

I hope maicon moves to chelsea because it would really strengthen the right back spot. No offense to my man Jose Bosingwa
