17.00 BST Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci has also been linked with Barcelona, and the Germany international is helping the rumour mill along. "I've heard that I'm a candidate for Barca," he said. "If an offer comes from Barcelona, you have to get together and have talks."

16.25 BST Sporting president Godinho Lopes has confirmed Gelson Fernandes is close to sealing a move from St Etienne. "The situation with Gelson will be resolved on Monday or Tuesday," he said.

10.50 BST: A little more on the Maicon to Chelsea stuff: Marca believes the Blues have moved ahead of Real Madrid in the race for the right back. The paper reports: "Abramovich has practically finalised a deal for the player... Marca can reveal that Real Madrid approached Inter Milan to enquire about the player’s situation, but things went no further. José Mourinho has been the most interested in signing Maicon, but the club had major doubts about signing him due to his age (almost 31 years old) and his high wages."
10.42 BST: The Sunday Express says, in addition to Gylfi Sigurdsson and Joao Moutinho, incoming Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas wants to sign... Theo Walcott from Arsenal. That doesn't sound massively likely.
10.37 BST: Interesting one here: Chievo director of sport Giovanni Sartori has confirmed Roma are in talks to sign USA midfielder Michael Bradley. “He would be enthusiastic at the idea of playing for a big club like Roma,” Sartori told Calciomercatoweb. “Besides, who wouldn’t want to be trained by Zdenek Zeman? Roma do not have the player, though, as Inter and Juventus like him too.”

Indeed, Clarence Seedorf has signed a two-year deal with Botafogo, the Brazilian club confirming the deal on Saturday evening.
Seedorf, 36, who ended a ten-year stint at AC Milan this summer, has been given what Botafogo claim is the most lucrative deal ever handed out to a foreign player in Brazil.
