21.20 GMT - DONE DEAL Wolfsburg have once again delved into the transfer market by making Portuguese forward Vieirinha their fourth new signing this winter.

20.40 GMT Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed Christian Maggio has signed a new deal with the club, while Marek Hamsik could be next in line to extend his stay.

20.06 GMT Catania chief executive Pietro Lo Monaco has claimed the Serie A club have received an offer from Fulham for Argentine forward Maxi Lopez.

18.38 GMT: Swansea transfer target John Goossens has turned down a move to the Liberty
Stadium and will stay with NEC Nijmegen for the rest of the season. A statement on the Eredivisie club's website read: "The agent of John Goossens has today told NEC that John is not responding to the offer of Swansea City. NEC had already reached agreement with this club on a transfer but the player has chosen to see out the season at NEC Nijmegen.''

18.21 GMT: DONE DEAL Udinese have completed the signing of free agent Jean-Alain Fanchone. Fanchone, 23, had been training with the club after his release by Strasbourg and has now agreed a five-year deal with the Serie A side.

18.07 GMT: DONE DEAL Aston Villa have confirmed Cardiff have signed goalkeeper Elliot Parish on a permanent basis.

18.04 GMT: AFP report that Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly lining up a sensational €61.5 million double swoop for Brazilian duo Kaka and Alexandre Pato. The agency reckon that the cash-rich French side are keen to make at least three high-profile signings over the next 15 days. One to watch we think.

17.30 GMT: Seemingly on his way out of Dortmund, striker Lucas Barrios may stay after all. "What I would prefer is for Lucas to stay," the club's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told kicker.

17.13 GMT: 18-year-old Brescia goalkeeper Nicola Leali is in talks with Juventus. "There’s no point in hiding it: It's true there have been talks between Brescia and Juventus over Nicola,” Leali's representative Graziano Battistini told Goal.com. “The Bianconeri are strongly interested in the boy."

17.02 GMT: More from those Steve Harper and Hull links. Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that the 36-year-old, who had a spell at Brighton earlier this season, is wanted by the Tigers, but that no loan deal has yet been agreed. He said: "There has been a little bit of contact about Harps to Hull. We are looking at that and Harps is considering whether that's a possibility
for him to get some games.''

16.48 GMT: Borussia Monchengladbach are sending Joshua King back to Manchester United halfway through his season-long loan as he couldn’t get into the team.

16.37 GMT: BBC Sport journalist @alistairmagowan tweets: “Just spoken to DJ Campbell who says stories of him going back to Blackpool on loan aren't true. He wants to fight for his place at #qpr”

16.26 GMT: DONE DEAL Genoa have signed 29-year-old Italy international Alberto Gilardino from Fiorentina for a reported €8 million. A statement on Fiorentina’s website read: “The company would like to thank Alberto for the time he has spent with us and the pleasure he gave the fans. The club wishes him every success for the rest of his career.”

16.23 GMT: @barcastuff tweets a tale from El Mundo Deportivo: “Because his situation has changed, Barcelona will make B winger Isaac Cuenca (20) an improved contract offer for minimum 3-4 seasons.”

16.19 GMT: Frank Lampard says he doesn't have any plans to leave Chelsea. "I am very committed," he said in the London Evening Standard. “The thing is for me it is much easier when I'm playing regular games and starting, playing 90 minutes to get into the rhythm that I have found since I have been here. That is what I love doing.

"The boss is the boss, he picks the team; for me personally I know that's when I'm at my best (playing regularly). I will always stay completely behind the cause of Chelsea because it's me now. Chelsea is my club."

16.11 GMT We mentioned earlier that Atletico Madrid's Jose Antonio Reyes is thought to be closing in on a move to Sevilla and Rojiblancos coach Diego Simeone has confirmed that the Spaniard is keen on a switch. Simeone, who replaced Gregorio Manzano last month, said Reyes "told us he wants to leave".

16.00 GMT Rangers midfielder Thomas Kind Bendiksen has left Ibrox to return to his Norwegian homeland with Tromso. He said: “I had a very good contract offer from Rangers but I said ‘no thanks’. Tromso are a good club with ambitions to be even better. I aim to play my way to a permanent place in the team and look forward to an exciting season, both at home and not least in the Europa League.”

15.52 GMT: Martin Jol earlier dismissed talk of Bobby Zamora leaving Fulham and Bolton boss Owen Coyle has now denied that he is interested in the England striker.

"Bobby Zamora is an outstanding footballer but I certainly have not had any dialogue with Martin Jol or any people at Fulham," Coyle said. "You only had to look yesterday to see the qualities that Bobby Zamora has but there has been no interest from Bolton Wanderers."

15.43 GMT: Further confirmation of Beckham's decision to stay in LA coming from PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who has said: "David Beckham is not coming. We feel a little disappointed. But both sides agreed it would be better that we not do the deal ... maybe in the future.' David Beckham is (with) Los Angeles and he's going to stay there.''

15.37 GMT: There is a rumour doing the rounds on Twitter that Blackburn are keen to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero, with an £8 million price tag suggested. We're not sure if former Los Blancos star Michel Salgado will be giving Ewood Park a ringing endorsement though.

15.12 GMT: The agent of Juve midfielder Michele Pazienza has confirmed Udinese want to sign him, but stressed that he will be staying in Turin.

Vincenzo D’Ippolito told Tutto Juve: “The player is certainly liked by Udinese. There are no doubts about that so the voices that we are hearing are true, even if the situation is another… I can say with total tranquillity that Pazienza will remain at Juventus and he will not be moving in January."

15.01 GMT: Wesley Sneijder's agent, Soren Lerby, gave a "no comment" response when asked by Calcio Mercato if his client would be leaving Inter this month. We mentioned earlier that there are reports in Italy that Inter might want to cash in.

14.54 GMT: NEC Nijmegen have announced that midfielder John Goossens has decided against a move to Swansea. The 23-year-old’s out of contract at the end of the season and could join Feyenoord.

14.50 GMT: West Ham co-owner David Sullivan has told ESPNsoccernet that the club are looking to sign "two or three" players in January. Story here.

14.44 GMT: Newcastle defender Davide Santon says his former Inter team-mate Mario Balotelli could still leave Manchester City. “We often speak and sometimes we meet up,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I do not know what he wants to do in the future because sometimes he says he wants to return to Italy and sometimes he says he wants to stay a long time with City.” Seems maybe the English tabloids might be onto something, despite the protestations of Mino Raiola (below).

14.40 GMT: DONE DEAL Burnley have announced the signing of defender Kieran Trippier, 21, from Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. He'd been on a season-long loan at Turf Moor.

14.36 GMT: DONE DEAL Aston Villa have signed Enda Stevens from Shamrock Rovers on a three-and-a-half-year deal. This was all agreed in the summer but the left back's move has finally gone through.

14.34 GMT: SV Ried midfielder Anel Hadzic, 22, claims he close to a move to Championship high-fliers Middlesbrough. “My next club is Middlesbrough, " the Bosnian told Sport10. “I was quite surprised when I heard this club was interested in me. I'd be stupid if I would say no to such an opportunity. Now I have to pass my medical tests and then I'll be able to sign."

14.26 GMT: Skysports.com is reporting that Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain are among the clubs looking at Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison. The youngster is out of contract at the end of the season and Fergie recently made some noises about his agent giving him bad advice.

14.17 GMT: Newcastle’s Evening Chronicle says the club are monitoring the progress of Brighton centre-back Lewis Dunk, but they may not make a move until the end of the season. Talk of a bid for Chris Samba is a no-go too apparently.

14.06 GMT: Owen Coyle offers a less than exciting update on Chelsea’s move for Gary Cahill: "We had agreed a fee between the clubs. It is now up to Chelsea and Gary's representatives to conclude that, or not. I think there has only been one meeting on that, so we'll take it from there."

13.56 GMT: The Corriere dello Sport says Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic, 33, is considering a move to the MLS.

13.49 GMT: Sky Sports News says Chinese clubs Shanghai Shenhua, Dalian Aerbin and Guangzhou Evergrande all want Didier Drogba - and Guangzhou are offering £400,000 a week - but the striker would rather stay at Chelsea.

13.41 GMT: This probably isn't really transfer gossip but it's close enough: Pep Guardiola says he's thinking of promoting Barcelona B forward Jonathan Soriano to the main squad as a result of David Villa's injury, although the "problem is he then can't go back to the B-team".

13.33 GMT: Agent Mino Raiola has told Radio Crc that claims Mario Balotelli could be on his way to Inter or AC Milan are nonsense. “There is no truth in what the English tabloids write. Yesterday I even read there were talks with Inter or AC Milan for Balotelli, but there is no truth in it.” He added: “The English tabloids are only good for cleaning the windscreen of your car..."

Asked also whether Chelsea could sign Napoli duo Edinson Cavani or Marek Hamsik, he added: “The news emerged from the British newspaper The Sun. It is a newspaper that is not even good enough for cleaning your windscreen with, so if Abramovich did want Cavani and Hamsik, he would have changed his mind after reading the news that day.”

He’s not keen on The Sun, it seems.

13.25 GMT: Felipe Melo is enjoying his loan spell in Turkey and appears to have no intention of returning to Juventus if he can at all help it. “I absolutely want to stay at Galatasaray,” he is quoted as saying. “I love this club, the fans appreciate me and I am finally happy. It’s practically impossible to see me wear the Bianconeri shirt again. I don’t want to go back.”

13.14 GMT: CSKA Moscow forward Vagner Love is set to sign for Flamengo for around €6.2 million in the coming days.

13.05 GMT: ESPNsoccernet podcast presenter @_DanMason tweets: “West Ham ask about Niko Kranjcar. Spurs quote us £9m. You have to laugh.”

12.58 GMT: Corriere dello Sport says Inter are back in for Carlos Tevez and sporting director Marco Branca has met with City’s football administration officer Brian Marwood. Inter could offer €25 million for the portly and unstable Argentine. FIFA agent Mino Raiola has said he thinks a move to Inter is "possible".

12.43 GMT: FC Twente attacker Luuk de Jong, 21, has been linked with a move to England and the Netherlands international seems quite keen. “The Premier League is a really nice competition. I don’t have real plans for the future - I’ll see what comes my way," he told fifa.com.

12.27 GMT: DONE DEAL Leeds have signed Danny Pugh from Stoke for an undisclosed fee. The 29-year-old has been on loan from the Potters this season, impressing enough to convince manager Simon Grayson to make the deal permanent.

12.15 GMT: Italy international goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano has told Inter he wants to go out on loan to get some first-team football, according to his agent. “We hope that Inter will agree to it seeing as if he does leave then it will only be on a loan basis,” Claudio Vigorelli told Sportnews.eu.

12.06 GMT: Sky Sports News says Thierry Henry has signed the contract on his two-month loan deal for Arsenal and the formalities relating to the transfer are close to completion.

11.55 GMT: Santos are apparently looking to sign Pablo Mouche to partner Neymar, and the Boca Juniors forward told TyC Sports: “I don’t know where I’ll be playing or if there are any offers. I always listen and consider offers because a player’s career is short, but if I stay at Boca I won’t be upset. If I stay, I’ll still fight for the team, as I always have.”

11.39 GMT: BREAKING NEWS: PSG sporting director Leonardo has now confirmed David Beckham will not be joining the club. "He will not come to PSG," he told the Brazilian media on Tuesday, citing "family reasons".

11.37 GMT: Villa want Robbie Keane on a two-month loan, but in the meantime the LA Galaxy striker will be training with former club Tottenham. A Spurs statement read: “The club can confirm that Robbie Keane will train with the first-team squad up until January 20 in order to build up his fitness ahead of returning to LA Galaxy for the start of the new MLS season.”

11.27 GMT: L’Equipe says the David Beckham to PSG deal is now looking very unlikely and he’s almost certainly going to be staying at LA Galaxy. “It is very likely that he will stay in the United States to extend his contract with the Galaxy,” a source close to the transfer told the paper. “The decision hasn’t been 100% taken, but that’s the way it’s looking. David will announce his choice in the coming days.”

11.18 GMT: Lee Ryder of Newcastle’s Evening Chronicle tweets: “Sources at the KC Stadium have confirmed Hull City have attempted to bring Steve Harper to the Championship side on loan #nufc”

11.10 GMT: Gazzetta dello Sport has some story about Inter considering selling Wesley Sneijder, but it’s probably not worth thinking about that just now. We had plenty of that during the summer and, although it was eventually confirmed that Manchester United did go in for him, it doesn’t seem overly likely that it’ll be happening in January.

11.03 GMT: Metro carries a rumour that Arsenal could move for Lyon left-back Aly Cissokho. Wayne Bridge isn’t under consideration, the paper says, which will no doubt delight Gooners everywhere.

10.55 GMT: There’s been plenty of talk that Alexandre Pato could leave Milan, influenced significantly by comments from his agent and the fact the Brazilian had a minor fall-out with coach Massimiliano Allegri, but the rumours are getting shot down fairly convincingly by his club. "He wants to stay,” Allegri says. “I hope, and believe, that he will stay this season and for many years to come."

10.47 GMT: Everton defender Shkodran Mustafi has passed a medical at Serie B side Sampdoria this morning, according to Calcio Mercato. He joined Everton from Hamburg in 2009 but hasn't been able to break through into the first-team reckoning.

10.42 GMT: DONE DEALS: Wolfsburg have completed their second and third signings this winter with the arrivals of Serbian midfielder Slobodan Medojevic and Macedonian forward Ferhan Hasani. Medojevic has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and arrives from Vojvodina Novi Sad while Hasani has been given a two-and-a-half-year deal, joining from Shkendija Tetovo.

10.28 GMT: It’s reported in Italy that Inter are to bring an end to Mauro Zarate’s stay halfway through his season-long loan from Lazio. The forward’s scored once in 18 games at Inter.

10.18 GMT: Martin Jol, asked whether Bobby Zamora was going to be leaving Fulham after his winner against Arsenal on Monday, said: “He has never asked me for a transfer request. For me, it is just speculation. Maybe you know more than me?”

10.13 GMT: Reports in Spain indicate Atletico Madrid winger Jose Antonio Reyes’ move to Sevilla is all but done, and he will sign a contract until 2016. The 28-year-old left Sevilla for Arsenal in 2004, and it was while in Andalusia that he was involved in the famous testicle-biting celebration incident, which was funny.

10.00 GMT: Bolton defender Sam Ricketts thinks Chelsea should do all they can to push through the Gary Cahill deal. “It would be a big loss, he's been a fantastic player for the club and he's a great lad to have around,” he said. “If he goes, I wish him all the best and, if not, then we're delighted to have him.”

09.52 GMT: The Guardian this morning repeats an earlier rumour that Aston Villa want LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane on a two-month loan.

09.43 GMT: QPR boss Neil Warnock, who is said to be interested in Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic, has said he’ll “hopefully get a couple of players” in January.

09.33 GMT: The Sport newspaper believes new Catalonian tax laws could hamper the chances of Eric Abibal extending his Barcelona contract. Incomes over €300,000 will be taxed at 56% instead of 49%, and Abidal presumably can't tolerate the sudden onset of poverty he'd have to endure to continue playing for the best team in the world. He's out of contract in June.

09.23 GMT: Ligue 1 side Dijon are keen to sign Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta on loan, but coach Patrice Carteron has told Goal they face competition from six other clubs including Marseille and Olympiakos. Kakuta has had loan spells at Fulham and Bolton already but has made little impact.

09.18 GMT: Barcelona back-up 'keeper Jose Pinto has agreed a new one-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2013. He hasn't signed it yet, though.

09.09 GMT: On that note, Jose Mourinho doesn't seem to be desperate to offload Kaka. He said yesterday: "I wouldn't like any of my men to leave in the winter transfer window. I'd like to end the season with the same players I had when it started. My men and the board of directors are aware of this. Everything is open until 31 January, but I haven't asked for a signing and I surely wouldn't like anyone to leave. We have a number of players that add balance to the team in the three competitions."

09.05 GMT: Interesting line in Marca on Kaka's future. The Brazilian has struggled a bit since his world record (briefly at least) move from AC Milan and it was said he'd been put up for sale, but Iker Casillas uploaded a picture of himself with the midfielder onto Facebook and said: "Kaka told me he is not going anywhere. He's going to be staying here with us."

"Tevez may well join inter Milan instead of ac. The rumors are that Milan won't buy carlitos outright, but would rather take him on loan with an option to buy in the summer. Daily Mail: Manchester City want to sign Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol and could also splash out £5 million on 15-year-old Madrid starlet Jose Angel Pozo ... Aston Villa have joined Sunderland and Everton in the race to sign Tottenham midfielder Steven Pienaar ... Transfer-listed Chelsea defender Alex is to hold talks with QPR on Tuesday despite interest from Juventus and Santos.

The Times: Porto star Hulk says “there would be no problem to reach an agreement” if a club - presumably Chelsea - matched his buyout clause, QPR are targeting sought-after Rangers Nikica Jelavic to boost their attack, Newcastle are considering a £4 million move for Chievo defender Marco Andreolli.

Daily Express: Didier Drogba has given up hope of securing a two-year deal at Chelsea and is now ready to move on. A source close to the striker told the newspaper: “Didier did want to stay. But it has gone too far now. He has a number of offers.”

Daily Star: The Star expected Manchester City to sign Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi, but now believes Roma will offer him a bumper contract to keep him at his hometown club and that Roberto Mancini "faces a fight".
