Diego Tavano, announcing details of the summer transfer, said: “All told Barcelona will receive €450,000 as a UEFA compensation, which means the deal is an absolute bargain for the Italians. Riverola is very similar to Alberto Aquilani, although maybe with a bit more quality and less physical strength, but those are his characteristics.”

15.31 GMT: Yet more from Ancelotti on Tevez. L'Equipe reports he has said: "Everyone knows that we want a striker. Carlos Tevez - it's a great opportunity for us to have a great striker. Today Tevez isn't playing for Manchester City, but he wants to play. Today, nothing is done. We have to talk with the player, and with Manchester City. We hope to find a good solution."

13.57 GMT: Of Carlos Tevex, PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti has told Sky Sport Italia: "It is in progress. But it is not easy, because he is an important player. We are very interested to take him and there is City's desire to sell. But we must also consider the agreement with the player."
13.27 GMT: Arsenal's Andrey Arshavin has been linked with a move to Lazio in recent days, but the club's sporting director Igli Tare told the Evening Standard: "Arshavin is a great player and I think everyone would like to have him in their squad. But I don't think there is any chance of seeing him in a Lazio shirt. There are a number of reasons why it would be difficult."
13.11 GMT: Kenny Dalglish has confirmed Liverpool are looking at a deal to sign teenage playmaker Joao Carlos Teixeira. Dalglish said: "There might be something about that, yes. If we've something to say we'll tell you but I think there might be something on that. He's only a kid."
12.51 GMT: Stoke chairman Peter Coates has told the The Sentinel: "You always get speculation at this time of year. Kenwyne Jones is a good player who hasn't been playing in every game, so I expect people are taking it from there. But he's a very good player and we want to keep our good players."

12.19 GMT: New QPR manager Mark Hughes looks poised to make his first signing at Loftus Road after agreeing a deal worth £3 million for Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.
12.06 GMT: Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed the club are taking a closer look at Philadelphia Union striker Sebastien Le Toux by taking the player on trial. He said: "We have received good reports about Sebastien, so we thought we would give him an opportunity to come into the group. He will train with us for a week and we will see where we are after that."
11.51 GMT: Aaron Lennon is set to open talks with Tottenham over a contract extension that will extend his stay at the club until 2016, according to the Daily Express.
11.42 GMT: Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is refusing to be panicked into making a foray into the January transfer market. He said: "I don't think anybody is a fan of it. January becomes a manic month. The problem with it is you realise that when you come to February 1, that's it all over, so whatever team you have assembled at that stage, that's it until the end of the season."
11.30 GMT: French side Bordeaux have confirmed that former French Under-21 international striker Anthony Modeste will move to Blackburn Rovers on loan. Bordeaux say that subject to Modeste passing his medical and agreeing terms, he will join until the end of the season, but without an option to make the deal permanent at the end of that period.
11.27 GMT: Liverpool have also been linked with Ghana Under-20 midfielder Mumuni Abubakar but manager Kenny Dalglish denied any knowledge of that deal. "It must be the academy,'' he said. "We are expecting a quiet (transfer) window - obviously the academy aren't but we are.''
11.19 GMT: Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua remain confident they will sign Chelsea striker Didier Drogba during the January transfer window. "Everything is going well so far though there have been a few obstacles. They never turned us down, which is good for us," club board member Zhou Jun told The Shanghai Daily.
10.58 GMT: Manchester United are confident they will land Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne and could make a €3 million bid this month. "Nathaniel won't sign a new contract," Palace chairman Steve Parish told the London Evening Standard. "I have offered him a very lucrative one and I can't force him to accept it. His agent has got Nathaniel running his contract down - make your own mind up about what's happening."
10.41 GMT: Bayer Leverkusen insists they know nothing of speculation linking them with a move for former star Dimitar Berbatov. "I have been reading that Dimitar (Berbatov) would have flown over to Frankfurt and that we would be in for him there to negotiate a transfer. That was interesting news to me," Bayer Leverkusen executive Wolfgang Holzhauser told Express. "I am clearly out to never say never, but this is nothing we are looking forward to at this point in time. And from today's point of view I would also say we are not after him in the coming summer."
