23.59 That's all for tonight everyone. More of the same tomorrow morning and some more DONE DEALS we hope as well.

23.42 According to Goal, Aston Villa are looking to move Darren Bent on in January and replace him with Didier Drogba. Rather an odd move if you ask us, as Drogba is coming towards the end of his career and Bent is still in the prime of his. The Ivorian might also be tempted by the various offers from China that would make him the highest paid player in the world.

23.31 The Daily Mail report that Mauro Formica has been denied a loan move to Newell's Old Boys. With Bursaspor, Trabzonspor and Lokomotiv Moscow keen, Rovers will only consider a £4 million permanent deal for the Argentina attacker and won't sanction a loan.

23.18 Newcastle will be without a few players who are off to the African Nations Cup, but they have made a bid for Dijon midfielder Benjamin Corgnet. A scouting network which has found great success with French players may have to look elsewhere as it was rejected.

23.02 Sporting Lisbon have said they have not received any offer for striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel. Manchester United are believed to be monitoring the 22-year-old's progress, but director Carlos Freitas said: "Sporting are safeguarded by a contract [valid until 2017] and a release clause [of €22m]. There has been no approach for the player. He is satisfied, he is part of our plans and we count on him."

22.28 CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love close to a move to Flamengo, as reports from Brazil suggest that he has agreed personal terms with the Brazilian giants. CSKA are mulling over whether to accept an offer believed to be worth around €6 million.

21.21 We're hearing that Tottenham have rejected a loan bid from Queens Park Rangers to take Jake Livermore to Loftus Road.

20.29 Francisco Sandaza is poised to turn down the offer of a contract extension from St Johnstone in favour of a move to a bigger club, according to his agent.

19.57 Malaga are keeping an eye on out-of-favour Dortmund striker Lucas Barrios. Odd, given he is not reaching the end of his career. Still, a competitor for Ruud perhaps?

19.36 QPR are believed to be showing interest in defender Alex who is unwanted by Chelsea. The defender wants to stay in London and Neil Warnock is readying a £3 million bid.

18.59 Those 'reports' of Kieran Richardson being linked to Arsenal are gathering pace again and various 'sources' claim that the Gunners had a loan move rejected by Sunderland. A rather odd one, but more when we know it.

18.44 Leicester City forward David Nugent is hoping his club makes a move for Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Sharp. "More the merrier," Nugent told the Leicester Mercury. We need competition for places. I heard we had an offer for Billy Sharp rejected but, if he does come in, then fair play, because he is a goalscorer. He is a six-yard-box tap-in player, and it is good to have competition."

18.21 Peterborough United have extended the loan deal of Manchester United teenager Ryan Tunnicliffe until the end of February.

18.00 Nikica Jelavic is flattered by reported interest from Liverpool but has stressed his commitment to Rangers.

He was quoted as saying in Croatian newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija: "Of course it (the link to Liverpool) is impressive to me, but I do not know how much truth there is. My task is to play. Liverpool is a great name, but I say the question is are they really interested? Every day in the paper a new club appears that wants me, and it is a little ridiculous. I do not know anything. That's why I just do not read newspapers, I want to concentrate on Rangers."

17.46 Big changes promised by Diego Maradona at Al Wasl. This may not be what Wasl fans expected: They have signed 28-year-old Iranian attacking midfielder Mohammad Reza Khalatbari on a six-month loan spell from Qatar's Al Gharafa.

17.19 DONE DEAL Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of 17-year-old striker Sam McMahon from Scottish champions Rangers. Youth-team manager Paul Wilson told the club's official website: "Sam is a strong, hardworking and aggressive striker and we are pleased to have him on board."

17.08 We're sure you've heard this one before, but Man Utd are again being linked with CSKA midfielder Alan Dzagoev - dubbed 'the Russia Messi'. His price is likely to be around £18 million, so cheaper than Fergie's other targets.

16.47 DONE DEAL Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has joined Hull on loan until the end of the season. The 23-year-old Italian, who played 10 games on loan with the Championship club last season, has found first team opportunities hard to come by with Arsenal.

16.41 Internazionale have reportedly joined the bidding to sign Carlos Tevez, along with AC Milan and Corinthians, whose new president Roberto de Andrade said the Brazilian club would make a fresh swoop for the rebel Manchester City striker. Unlike Milan and Corinthians, who want Tevez on loan, Inter are willing to pay a transfer fee in a structured deal.

16.36 Blackburn have rejected an offer from Newell's Old Boys to re-sign Mauro Formica on loan as they want to sell the forward for around €5 million. "My agent spoke with the leaders of Blackburn to see if they would let me go on loan. It was a possibility and I got excited a lot," Formica told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "But the sporting director told him to sit and talk only if it was a sale."

16.20 Nice have confirmed that defender Larrys Mabiala is in the process of negotiating a move to Turkish side Karabukspor. The 24-year-old, who has started eight games this season, has flown to Turkey to undergo a medical with the Super Lig club.

16.08 Athletic Bilbao forward Oscar de Marcos has signed a contract extension to tie him to the club until June 2016. The 22-year-old former Alaves player's previous deal at San Mames, which he signed upon joining the club in 2009, had been due to expire next summer.

15.55 - DONE DEAL Bayern Munich have lost the race to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Moenchengladbach as Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have confirmed they have snapped him up for €17.5 million. Reus will join Dortmund at the end of the season.

Comment from jerome: Where are the DONE DEALS man?

Comment from Derek: Psssst. Reports out of Germany have Marco Reus now "officially" headed to Dortmund this summer.

15.39 Taye Taiwo's agent has dismissed reorts that Arsenal have made an offer for the AC Milan defender. "At the moment there is no huge news about Nigerian players, with Arsenal there was only a rumour," Fabio Parisi told Notiziario Sportivo. "Arsene Wenger is looking for a left-back but at this time there has not been any official offer at AC Milan."

15.20 Chelsea target Kevin de Bruyne, who came close to moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer, has confirmed he wants to leave Belgian club Genk. "It is the intention to find something else at the end of the season. Genk knows that, I have already told them last summer,” the winger told Het Nieuwsblad. "Only Genk demands a lot of money for me."

15.03 More on the Carlos Tevez to Inter rumours: Marco Branca, who is head of technical staff at the Serie A club, is set to travel to England in next 48hrs to start negotiations.

14.41 Inter have now reportedly entered the bidding to sign Carlos Tevez, along with AC Milan and Corinthians. Unlike the latter two, Inter are willing to pay an actual transfer fee in a structured deal rather than take the Manchester City rebel on loan.

Comment from Soumitra Roy: And we all thought Tevez was going to be near his family!

14.20 Santos president Luis Oliveira has revealed that Ganso will be allowed to leave the club if he wants to. "The desire of the player is most important. If Ganso wants to leave Santos and our interests are preserved, we can negotiate," Oliveira told O Globo: "If the player wants to leave, we will have to listen to offers. But as of today, no offer for him has yet arrived."

14.02 Sevilla boss Marcelino is refusing to be drawn on the seemingly imminent arrival of Jose Antonio Reyes from Atletico Madrid, saying talk about arrivals and departures would be "disrespectful". He got "angry" when asked about it at a press conference, according to Marca, and added: "I don't want to talk about it. It doesn't concern me."

13.41 Tuttosport thinks Juventus are keen on Gonzalo Higuain and Nani, but says Chelsea are also interested in the former. Apparently Theo Walcott, Fernando Torres and Leandro Damiao are also on the Juve list of targets.

13.30 QPR have added Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor to their list of transfer-window targets. A list which also which also includes Gers' striker Nikica Jelavic.

13.10 Chelsea will offer €35m for Sao Paulo midfielder Lucas Moura, according to reports from Brazil. Last week, the highly-rated youngster's agent, Wagner Ribiero, said: "I received three offers for my client from Chelsea, Inter and Liverpool."

12.39 Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has revealed he is hoping to sign at least one striker on loan in the January transfer window. "It is vital for us because we know that four players will be away at the African Cup of Nations, and on top of that Dede Gignac is still not fully fit. That means we need at least one extra player," Deschamps said.

12.14 Corinthians new president Roberto de Andrade says his club will be back in for Carlos Tevez, but not for the £40m sum they offered in August. De Andrade said: "City's great mistake was that they did not accept, they missed out on a great opportunity. Today, they will not be able to get half of what was offered back then."

11.47 Veteran AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta has insisted he currently has no plans to retire from football at the end of the season. "I have no intention of quitting just yet,” Nesta told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I don't have that desire."

11.30 Aston Villa are considering a £6 million bid for Celtic playmaker Ki Sung-Yueng, according to the Daily Record. Villa boss Alex McLeish has also been highly impressed by another of Neil Lennon’s midfield lynchpins, Beram Kayal.

11.16 Stoke are the latest club to show an interest in Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha, 24, who is also wanted by Bolton, Blackburn and Sunderland.

10.42 Reports are circulating that Carlos Tevez's proposed move to AC Milan is back on and Manchester City will resume talks in next 48 hours ... will somebody please just sign him up?

10.20 However, ESPNsoccernet has been told that Tottenham are keen to bolster their defensive options by swooping for Blackburn captain Christopher Samba. A source said: "Spurs are desperate to sign Samba". Full story

10.05 Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for West Ham's 22-year-old centre back James Tomkins, according to the Daily Mail, with main target Gary Cahill negotiating a move to Chelsea.

Comment from Barbarossa: Whether the reports are true or not, as a Newcastle supporter, I would welcome a loan move for Andy Carroll, especially since we'll be losing Ba for the African Nations Cup. Hell, if Liverpool were desperate to sell him, and the price was right (say, under £10 mill), I'd buy him back. Of course, that won't happen!

09.49 Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta is a loan target for Greek side Olympiakos and France's Marseille, who have made last-minute moves to stop him going to another French club, Dijon, report The Mirror.

09.38 Catania sporting director Pietro Lo Monaco has revealed that the club are "evaluating" an offer from Fulham for Argentinian striker Maxi Lopez. Full story

09.00 Bolton midfielder Mark Davies is a reported £4 million target for West Brom as manager Roy Hodgson looks for a right-sided player following an injury to Chris Brunt.

08.30 Fulham have joined Newcastle in the race to sign 18-year-old Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire who is rated by the Blades at £3 million - that's according to The Sun.

Lukas Podolski's on/off move from Cologne to Arsenal or Liverpool is back on again, Bild reports, after the Germany international striker stalled on talks over a new contract at the Bundesliga club.

Comment from gberge: Nice news about Lukas Podoski to Arsenal and Liverpool we really need the full story. (Ed - it's here if you can read German)

Gary Cahill's £7 million move from Bolton to Chelsea is on the rocks due to the England defender's huge wage demands, according to the Daily Express. Cahill has reportedly asked for £120,000 per week, the same salary as Ashley Cole, but some £50,000 per week higher than Chelsea's valuation.

Comment from Hamzat Naseer: To me Cahill is a good player but the £120,000 is too much for him. £70,000 is okay for him.

Frank Lampard has said he will not leave Stamford Bridge and has also warned the club warned the club it will be making a big mistake if they get rid of too many senior players too soon, the London Evening Standard.

Fellow Chelsea veteran Didier Drogba has been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge but he won't be heading to Al Wasl to join coach Diego Maradona, who has rejected reports that he is trying to lure the Ivory Coast international and Schalke veteran Raul to the United Arab Emirates. Full story

The Daily Mail report that Newcastle have been offered Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta on loan, while the Newcastle Chronicle claim there is no truth to reports that the Magpies have made a move to bring Liverpool striker Andy Carroll back to the club on loan.

Serie A side Roma are set to offer Daniele De Rossi a bumper new deal in a bid to keep him out of the clutches of Manchester City, according to the Daily Star. City are prepared to offer De Rossi £160,000 a week in the hope of making him their latest big-name signing.

@ cahill' to me Cahill is a good player but the £120,000 is too much for him. £70,000 is okay for him. What's wasted of the money. Up blues!

for all non-german speaking: the "full story" on Podolski´s move/contract is a rather short one and it is perfectly translated by Soccernet people at 8.30am

Posted by Bernard on 01/04/2012

After last night's crashing defeat, Liverpool must buy a proven goal poacher, a creative/tricky winger & a centre midfielder. Podolski would an ideal signing as he can operate as a striker or winger, just like Suarez. Nathan Dyer looks promising, although my dream is to see Walcott joining the Reds in the forseeable future. Then, Ever Banega will be my choice for the centre mid signing to replace Lucas. Hope KK & DC are reading this. YNWA !

Posted by Jay on 01/04/2012

Sorry, Podolski has been quoted as saying he will stay in Germany so as not to risk losing his Euro 2012 spot...

Posted by Barbarossa on 01/04/2012

Posted by Adam on 01/04/2012

That's the problem with how City and Chelsea have had to overpay to lure talent. Cahill is everybit the player Ashley Cole is today, and no one expects to go to either club on the cheap. Until FFP, this is the bed they've made.

AND WE ALL THOUGHT TEVEZ WAS GOING NEAR HIS FAMILY!!

Posted by jerome on 01/04/2012

where are the DONE DEALS man?

Posted by Derek on 01/04/2012

Psssst. Reports out of Germany have Marco Reus now "officially" headed to Dortmund this summer.

Posted by Rohin on 01/04/2012

Rumors from Germany indicate that Dortmund have signed Reus to prepare for Gotze's departure to Arsenal.

Posted by Wahaj Ahmed on 01/04/2012

Why is AC Milan after Tevez? When just a week a ago Kaka was reportedly available for around 21 million. What Milan needs now is not a Forward but a Playmaker

Posted by Aren on 01/04/2012

Reus to Dortmund means Gotze to the Premier League this summer. Fergie, are you watching? His price will be double after Euros

Posted by A.D. on 01/04/2012

If Alan Dzagoev is the 'Russian Messi,' what does that make Arshavin?

Posted by Bryce on 01/04/2012

Why no reports of Spurs going after Alex?! If he's such an "outcast", Chelsea would be willing to send him anywhere, right? And with Gallas, King & Dawson being injury question marks, it makes all the sense in the world!

Posted by david on 01/05/2012

Please Tottenham sign Alex from chelsea he will be brilliant for us. Samba will also work but Alex is a steal. Harry Please Read this
