"This is the time of year when it is normal to hear talk of transfers to big clubs for astronomical fees,. The majority of the time there is nothing to them, as is the case with regards to a possible move to Manchester United for Edinson."

19.12 Velez Sarfield midfielder Ricardo Alvarez, a target for Inter Milan and Napoli, says he wants to play for Arsenal. "I would love to play for Arsenal, it would be a dream for me. God willing it will happen!" he said on Twitter. That's if it is him on Twitter.

19.01 Rumours that DJ Campbell will only sign for a Premier League club. That means he could join QPR over West Ham.

18.33 Lille have continued their summer recruitment drive by signing Auxerre midfielder Benoit Pedretti on a three-year deal on Thursday. Lille have already signed Czech defender David Rozehnal, Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and France midfielder Dimitri Payet.

18.14 Genoa have revealed that they rejected the chance to sign French goalkeeper Sebastien Frey after being offered him by Fiorentina.

Genoa sporting director Stefano Capozucca told firenzeviola.it: “It was the Viola club who offered us the player and not his agent. However, at the moment, we don’t need a player like Frey as we already have an excellent goalkeeper in Eduardo.”

13.30 Sky Sports reports that QPR have bid £1.25 million for Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.

12.40 Lille claim that the Gunners are yet to make an offer for Gervinho. "We know that Gervinho is keen on Arsenal. For the moment, there has been contact, but we have not received a concrete offer yet."

12.27 Manchester City are planning a £20 million bid for Arsenal star Samir Nasri after missing out on Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, according to talkSPORT.

12.10 Bologna have asked Juventus about the availability of Danish Under-21 international Frederik Sorensen, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

11.55 The agent of Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero met with representatives from Manchester United and Manchester City on Wednesday, according to Spanish newspaper AS.

11.33 Anderlecht remain convinced Chelsea are still keen to sign Romelu Lukaku but have warned they will need to offer "a serious sum". Full story

10.54 Lille manager Rudi Garcia expects Eden Hazard will still be at the Ligue 1 champions next season despite interest from PSG. Garcia told L'Equipe: "I wouldn't understand a transfer to PSG. It seems a lot more interesting playing Champions League football with the French champions."

10.38 Hull City have completed the signing of veteran striker Dele Adebola on a free transfer from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.

10.20 AC Milan have ruled themselves out of the race to sign Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. Vice-president Adriano Galliani told the club's official website: "Fabregas will not join us because he will join a different club".

09.25 Chelsea have had a £4 million bid for 19-year-old goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois rejected by Belgian champions Genk, but the Gunners are expected to return with an improved offer.

09.14: Fiorentina have confirmed the signing of right-back Romulo from Cruzeiro. Italian reports claims that the club paid around €2.5 million for the 24-year-old.

08.57: West Brom anticipate finding out in the next 24 hours if they have been successful in their bid to sign midfield duo David Vaughan and Zoltan Gera.
