17.20 Right folks, that's all we've got time for today but join us again from 0900 BST on Saturday for more transfer news and gossip from the world of football.

17.10 Rangers have rejected a bid from Bursaspor for Steven Whittaker. Gers boss Ally McCoist says he has no intention of breaking-up his squad.

16.50 Bojan's agent Zoran Vekic says the Barca striker could be on his way to join former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique at Roma.

Vekic told Radio Mana Mana:“Bojan to Roma? It’s a match made in heaven. I see this as a perfect marriage."

16.23 Former Newcastle striker and Championship goalscoring star Michael Chopra has moved from Cardiff to Ipswich.

16.01 Real Mallorca have reportedly agreed terms with Atletico Madrid’s Juan Valera and Sevilla’s Alejandro Alfaro, though nothing has been agreed yet between the clubs.

15.40 Despite saying last week that a move to Chelsea would be completed on Monday just gone, Romelu Lukaku now insists he is in no rush to decide on his future.

Lukaku said: "Hello all, I read a lot in the paper about me these days. Some journalists try to sell information they don't always know about. Please know that my current and only focus is ... passing my exams.

"After that I'll have some holiday and will start the pre-season with RSCA (Anderlecht). I'll keep you all posted...thank you for your understanding."

15.15 We had someone joke earlier that DJ Campbell would be better for Arsenal than Gervinho. Well here is a window of opportunity for the Gunners. The Blackpool strike rhas told Ian Holloway he wants to leave Bloomfield Road.

Campbell said: “I had a conversation with the manager and told him how I felt. He understands.
He knows that at my age, with what I achieved during the season, he can’t really stand in my way. It’s not about money - I’m a human being with ambitions.”

14.59 Sergio Aguero has told TyC Sports. "It makes me happy that a coach like Mourinho speaks well of me, him just as much as other coaches." We reckon speculation linking him with Real might just increase after that...

14.32 Here's the full story on Manchester United closing in on Aston Villa's Ashley Young.

14.18 Marlon King has signed for Birmingham but Coventry are furious as apparently he had agreed to stay with them. Full story here.

13.40 in-demand Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour will not be making any decision on his future until after his summer holiday, according to agent Paul Stefani

Stefani said: "The player has several major offers but he is now on holiday. When he gets back we will discuss his future with Standard. Until then we can do more."

13.16: The Sunderland Echo says Johan Cabaye is due on Tyneside to complete his £4.8 million switch to Newcastle United from Lille. Former Magpies defender Olivier Barnard compared Cabaye to Kieron Dyer. That'll be the kiss of death then.

13.08 Stoke and West Brom reportedly interested in Bolton midfielder matt Taylor. A fee of £1.5 million could be enough to prise him away from the Reebok Stadium.

12.51 Montpellier have signed Cameroon full-back Henri Bedimo on a four-year contract from relegated Lens.

12.30 Sunderland are going to use some of the cash from the near £20 million transfer of Jordan Henderson to bid for Peter Crouch, says Goal.com. Apparently the Wearsiders will offer £10 million for the Tottenham striker.

12.16 Javier Pastore says he is now reasy to leave Palermo. He is quoted on Fox Sports-Del Plata as saying: "I think that the moment has come to leave Palermo."

12.07 Sky Sports News reporting that Ashley Young will sign for Manchester United from Aston Villa when he gets back from holiday.

11.57 Keep the comments flooding in, reader monaal is relishing the prospect of an Arsenal exodus:

"Loving the torture of arsenal fans this summer! Clichy to Liverpool, Fabregas to Barcelona, Nasri to Manchester United and Diaby saying he likes the Tottenham shirt more. What's next? Wenger to QPR? Haa!"

11.46 Man City defender Jerome Boateng has outlined his desire to join Bayern Munich. He joined City from Hamburg on a five-year deal 12 months ago but already has his sights set on a move back to the Bundesliga.

Boateng said: ''I would like to go to Munich. On my side everything is clear. I have already told Roberto Mancini that I want to play in central defence and not at full-back. Bayern have indicated I will play in the centre. To play there regularly is important for me because I will have a better chance of playing in the national team.''

11.39 Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo has revealed that his preferred destination, should he leave Turin, would be Spain. The Brazil international played for Mallorca, Racing Santander and Almeria between 2005 and 2008. Melo said: "England would be a last option. I really want to return to Spain."

11.22 Rennes goalkeeper Nicolas Douchez has agreed to join PSG on a three-year contract.

11.13 Bayern Munich teenager David Alaba has signed a two-year extension to his contract at the Allianz Arena until June 2013.

Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger said: `"We are very pleased to tie such a young and talented player to the club long-term. In the coming weeks we will decide together David's short-term future and what is best for all parties.''

11.01 The Northern Echo reckons Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is stepping up his pursuit of South Korean striker Ji Dong-Won from K-League outfit Chunnam Dragons. Apparently he will cost £1 million.

10.51 Parma may not be keen on Sebastian Giovinco leaving for Juve (see 10.17) but Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte is persisting in his interest according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

10.39 It's the summer months which means it's time for Barca players to start talking about Cesc Fabregas and how they want him to come to Camp Nou. Cue Gerard Pique:

"I hope to see him in a Barca shirt. I know his family are lifelong cules (Barca fans) and I would be thrilled to see him return."

It begins....

10.24 Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Lewis says he is happy to stay at the club:

“Everyone knows that I want to play at the highest level, but playing in the Championship next season certainly wouldn’t damage my career in any way. Until anything solid or concrete comes along from elsewhere I will remain a Peterborough player and continue to be 100 per cent committed to the club."

10.17 Parma have reiterated that Sebastian Giovinco will be staying at the club next season, despite continued interest from Juventus.

Parma sporting director Pietro Leonardi said: “We’ve said it in every language that we know. Giovinco will be ours and will play with us.”

10.03 Remember to get your comments in using the tool below. That's what shyamalsantra did and the hilarity of this means we're putting it up here:

"I think DJ Campbell is a better player than Gervinho."

Superb.

09.45 Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has resigned himself to leaving Old Trafford this summer. "I haven't spoken with Alex Ferguson," he said. “He has told me nothing. He never tells me anything. I don't know if I can stick it any more.”

09.26 Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro won't be moving to Newcastle: "I'll think about my future in the coming days,” he told RMC Sport. "It will be Paris or Valencia. The two clubs are very good. I will calmly make my decision over the next days.''

09.12 Steve Bruce, the Sunderland manager, is keen to bring in Tottenham's Peter Crouch, if he can manage to prise him away from Spurs. Big changes expected, then, at the Stadium of Light.

08.55 Nikkan Sports quote Keisuke Honda saying he wants to quit CSKA. ''It's unbearable, I can't stay.'' PSG and Man City on alert... Full story here

08.41 Gianluca Zambrotta has told La Gazzetta dello Sport that Milan should buy Marek Hamsik. He stated: "Marek Hamsik would fit in very well at Milan. I would love to see him join the team. He has already shown at Napoli that he is a player who can make the difference.''

08.32 Sergio Aguero has said he will not make a decision on where his future lies until after the forthcoming Copa America. "A decision about a possible transfer elsewhere will be made when the Copa America is over," the Argentina forward told Canal 7. "At the moment, I don't know anything about what will happen."

08.18 Interesting quotes from Luka Modric, which suggest he could be on his way out: "I'm a Tottenham player and will be in London on July 7 to begin preparing for the season," he was quoted as saying. "But I want to say that transfers could occur later. In England it is often the case they happen on the last day of the transfer period, August 31. So it is pointless to worry about anything now. "If my situation changes after the start of preparation it would not be a problem."

08.13 More encouraging Arsenal news as Wenger is reportedly in talks with defenders Gary Cahill and Chris Samba and Lille duo Gervinho and Eden Hazard.

08.07 A quick paper round-up reveals some interesting gossip:

Daily Mirror: Southampton's £12m-rated winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be confirmed as a Gunners player on 1 July... But Manchester United are planning a £10m bid for Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri who will be a free agent in 12 months time.

The Sun: Martin Jol wants to make unsettled Newcastle captain Kevin Nolan his first signing at Fulham... and Robbie Keane could also be on his way to Craven Cottage. Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has resigned himself to starting life at another Premier League club as United close in on David de Gea.

Daily Mail: The president of the Uzbekistan Football Federation says Arsenal want to sign national team captain, midfielder Odil Ahmedov... Everton are prepared to sell Joseph Yobo and Yakubu to raise money to make a bid for Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia. And Ashley Young is poised to complete his transfer to Manchester United before the weekend, when he gets married.

08.00 Early news from Arsenal as Gael Clichy is apparently the subject of interest from Liverpool according to the Guardian. £5 million is the fee mooted, which seems a little small for an established international, although he does only have one year remaining on his contract.

I hope Arsenal will sign Gary Cahill, Chris Samba,Gervinho & Eden Hazard.one GK more is good for signing.stekelenburg is good choice for GK.

Posted by charles cantoo on 06/10/2011

I like what is currently happening at Arsenal, I have always argued with my friends over the character of French contingents at Arsenal that they have no love for football but they have come to mint money only. I will be happy to see the Board put pressure on the manger not to sign French men any more. Lets go English, Africa and S. America and Europe. Let the French go away from Arsenal.

Posted by Daronn on 06/10/2011

Good news about Keisuke from a Man City perspective. We need to add another playmaker.

Posted by juiceman on 06/10/2011

It's crazy... 5 million for Clichy and 10 million for Nasri... both are proven and established internationals... and then 12 million for Oxlade-Chamberlain, 16 million for Henderson, 25 million for Jones... for youngsters... and if Pastore from Palermo is worth 40 million, then Fabregas at least 60... :o)

Posted by Alex on 06/10/2011

Cahill, Samba, Gervinho & Eden are good signing. With Nasri and Clichy probably leaving, we really need someone good to replace them. Baines could replace Clichy if Moyes allows the move.

For GK, I would like to see Adler or Lloris move to Arsenal and maybe they can pass their skill to our reserves.

Posted by shyamalsantra on 06/10/2011

I think DJ Campbell is a better player than Gervinho.

Posted by ASut on 06/10/2011

Hate to say it, but it looks like Liverpool will push their way into the top four and Arsenal will drop out this season. Yet again, Wenger is going for players who he thinks have potential, not established stars.

Posted by Anubhav on 06/10/2011

And now Aquilani is back at Liverpool. How many central midfielders does Kenny want? Need to offload some players!!

Posted by Steve on 06/10/2011

Sami would be a steal at 10 million, would be very happy to see him at Man U next season, keep boosting the greatest club in England Sir Alex..

Posted by abu on 06/10/2011

It's great to know we are going for nasri...hope it comes to fruition, I also think sanchez would be a fantastic purchase for the club. I think we should get rid of brown, gibbo, o'shea and carrick too.

Posted by Fan on 06/10/2011

I believed Arsenal should be more urgent in selling Denilson, Almunia, Rosicky, Bendtner and Squillaci, they are not good enough to play in the first team.

Posted by TK on 06/10/2011

Rumours on Twitter that Modric has signed for Man City!

Posted by Brian on 06/10/2011

Whts the chances of Liverpool signing Charlie Adam

Posted by Oily on 06/10/2011

Man City probably won't stop looking for playmakers until they have at least 11 in the squad.

Posted by Victor F on 06/10/2011

I think wenger should sign Gervihno,Samba and Cahill, and he must make sure that nasri is staying though he shows as how much he is difficult to learn, because he failed to learn from what happened to the Flamini saga, leaving important players with one year contact at their hands is not acceptable!

Posted by Alvin on 06/10/2011

Arsenal should either quickly offer Nasri what he wants, the reported £110k/week wage or offload him. Now it seems like a pretty similar situation of what happened to Liverpool with the Torres saga and it can poison the whole team.

Posted by Chang J S on 06/10/2011

This is the busiest time for all the banks in Europe. Today they are crediting 20mil to Sunderland's accountt, tomorrow Sunderland request them to transfer to Man Utd's account and when they haven't even finish counting, Ferguson told them to transfer 18mil to A.Madrid. God bless them.

Posted by perlez grimes on 06/10/2011

If nasri leaves arsenal for man united it will be one of the most painful transfers for us Arsenal fans to accept in recent years

Posted by monaal on 06/10/2011

Loving the torture of arsenal fans this summer! Clichy to Liverpool, Fabregas to Barcelona, Nasri to Manchester United and Diaby saying he likes the Tottenham shirt more. What's next? Wenger to QPR? Haa!

Posted by Anonymous on 06/10/2011

I am surprised that Man City iare so quiet in this transfer window. Aren't they planing to to buy Kaka from Madrid? Ade could be cash plus money in this transfer for city. Nasri could also move to City

Posted by bayo on 06/10/2011

wenger should gooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Swifty on 06/12/2011

ps with the potenial dearth of talent at the Emirates i do know of an aussie player that would be an absolute steal and fit right in - keep your eye out for the name B Audet to get thrown around - french surname and all. you heard it here first.....

Posted by Promise on 06/12/2011

AW should have to make some changes to strengthen his squad & challenge for epl, uefa cl & domestic cup too.....AW should sign 1GK , 1/2 CD , 1MF & 1ST (profilic)
GK - akineef,loris,adler,skeletenburg
CD - cahill,albiol,samba etc
MF - hazard,parkar,lassana,young
ST - higuan,benzema,podolski,ibrahimovic
and should sell the player like almunia, fabianski, squillaci, denilson, rosicky, diaby, bendtner.

Posted by Joshua on 06/12/2011

Nasri isnt going to Man u. He never said anything about man utd which is why there is no video of this apparent interview and nasri has already said dont listen to the rumours. Fabregas going to Barca isnt a problem as Nasri will simply slot in the middle. Losing clichy is about as devastating as hearing denilson and bendter are going to leave. Diaby should leave aswell hes not good enough for us and then thinks he can talk about wearing a jew shirt. Every year Arsenal are favourites to lose top four spaces and every year we are still there dont worry though end of the season we will still be there hopefully with the right signings we can win something.

Posted by mamoud nyelenkeh on 06/12/2011

Iwould be very much happy if Wenger sings more experienced players in the game especially defenders which is our greatest problem because i'm ashamed to discuss football particularly in the mist of other fans

Posted by thejas on 06/13/2011

arsene is making good transfer deals this season. he's really frustrated by the trouphy drought and he will whatever he can to sign good players and keeping nasri, clichy and cesc.

Posted by Peter on 06/13/2011

Posted by DAFE on 06/13/2011

Febregas, Denilson, Clichy, Bendtner can all go for all i care. We can invest the sale of this players on GERVINHO,SAMBA,CAHIL and OSAZE ODEWENGE. Wenger please do everything possible to keep NASRI

Posted by Primo on 06/13/2011

If Wenger really wants to end this trophy droughts,he simply needs to offload playas like Alumia, eboue, squillaci, denilson, diaby, rosiki, bendter etc.KEEP Nasir and bring in the likes of Skeletenburg,Samba,Cahil,Gervinho..to galvanise the team like STEEL.And save we fans from shame.

Posted by Patrick on 06/14/2011

keep nasri and cesc and bring some new signings like Samba, cahil, gerviho and the world classic striker.you can sell niklas berdtner, rosicky, eboue, almunia, denilson, squilach.

Posted by olas on 06/15/2011

arsene wenger should allow any player who want to leave to go.bcos if their mind is not there and he forced to stay it could lead to lack of concentration.

Posted by Kelechi Collins Obijuru on 06/15/2011

We need experienced players in Arsenal to help win cups for our dearling club, the likes of Ebue, Bendtner, Denilson, Squillaci, Chamak, Rosiscky, Diaby & Almunia should go & mr Wenger should hold on on Fab & Nasiri.

As an arsenal supporter,I believe it is time for Arsene Wenger to leave the club.He has failed and has nothing more to offer.Looking back to what happened last season, one will expect that he will not take chances at this time that other clubs are looking for right players to strengthening their team.Instead he went for a tennager as his first signing with another tennager waiting to be signed. We just can't understand what kind of policy is this that Wenger and the Board are playing.Making money for themselves and leaving the club trophyless for six years now.Arsenal have a become a place for building players and to be sold when will be a great benefit to the club.So it was with Flamini and now Nasri.Wenger, you are gradually sinking this great club because of your selfish interest and that of the Board. This money you refuse to spend is not your money, why are you so stingy? I believe your time at the club is numbered because you have derailed......

Posted by John Key on 06/18/2011

What will be the reason that arsene wenger will not keep nasri? Are we in another Flamini situation?Wenger, please we beg you in the name of jesus christ to make sure that no arsenal key player leave this time.

Wenger just makes me sick sometimes..makes us fans unhappy and gives us hypertension..pls for the love of God,Wenger buy good and experienced players..Dont let Nasri leave.

Posted by ereklikhan on 06/19/2011

If Tottenham and Harry Redknapp have brains, they must let Luka Modric go and instead buy Spartak Moscows Georgian playmaker Jano Ananidze (a carbon copy of Modric, by style of play and physic). He will save at least 30 mil + in age Jano is 18 yrs old could grow like Modric if properly trained.

Posted by tshepang mokhabi on 06/19/2011

In my view Wenger has got it all wrong once again.. in order for Arsenal to be a championship winning side, that wins cups he needs good and experienced players. Its all good and well trying to breed the next generation of super stars but Mr Wenger young talent requires a good mentor. Personally, I think these are the players Arsenal should be looking to buy : Jesus Navas, Goucuff,Falco and why don't you throw in a Benzima whilst you at it.
