As always, the Daily Mail's rumour mill has been grinding away vociferously, reporting that Manchetser United are preparing to sign Benfica left-back Fabio Coentrao as a replacement for Patrice Evra, who they are expecting to move abroad in the summer.
That very same newspaper believes Aston Villa left-back Stephen Warnock is heading back to Liverpool on loan, meaning that Manuel Figueroa will be brought in from Wigan to take his place, while Manchester United, Chelsea and Inter Milan are all monitoring the progress of Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.
The Daily Mirror says Chelsea have bid for Steven Pienaar, but that the South African will snub the Blues to sign for Tottenham. And if The Times is to be believed, Spurs will also be swooping for Marseille left-back Tat Taiwo, who is out of contract in the summer.
Jose Mourinho will not be letting Karim Benzema leave the club in January, according to The Independent, but the France striker could be set for more competition for places as the Daily Mail reckons that Real Madrid are upping their efforts to sign Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan.
