With Edwin van der Sar set to retire at the end of the season, Manchester United are in the hunt for a new first-choice stopper (sorry Anders Lindegaard!) and there have been plenty of names thrown into the hat, including the likes of David De Gea and Gianluigi Buffon. The latest player to be linked is Inter Milan custodian Julio Cesar, mainly because of recent comments he made, saying "England is sensational for football because of the atmosphere and fans' passion".

15.51: Manchester City look set to seal the signing of Edin Dzeko, but reader Lenny believes that Roberto Mancini should be focusing on strengthening elsewhere.
Does anyone else believe that Man City over spend on players that arent worth their value?! Gareth Barry and James Milner, seriously!! Milner couldnt take on space 1 on 1 never mind a defender and Barry is way too soft to be a defensive midfielder and not creative enough to be an attacking mid!!
Get Adam Johnson on the field, sign another wide player - NOT Edin Dzeko!! Tevez and Adebayor or Balotelli or even Jo can handle the load up front!! A player like Pablo Aimar would be great for a year or two as the playmaker!! I have no problem with over spending, but get some real value for your money!!
15.33: Juventus have been hit by the news that top scorer Fabio Quagliarella will be out for the season with a knee ligament injury - but fear not Bianconeri fans, as the club have snapped up tall striker Luca Toni.

The club's coach Benno Mohlmann said: "We know his history, we know he has not confirmed in recent years the potential he showed when he was 15-16 years old." American teenage prodigy Adu, who is now 21 - I know, it brought gasps of shock from ESPNsoccernet HQ too - has already played in the USA, Portugal, France and Greece.

14.08: As usual in On the Move, the Liverpool comments are flooding in - with the latest coming from Seth, who has launched an impassioned defence of Brazil midfielder Lucas. Well, I guess someone has to.
LUCAS- What defensive midfield problem? Lucas is irreplaceable in the side. He lifts morael in the camp while being a steady influence on the field and a consistent performer. Central Midfield is the one place that Liverpool has plenty of depth (Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Shelvey, Spearing, and Cole if necessary) and is the last position that needs strengthening.

11.21: gerard Houllier is reportedly interested in bringing Borussia Dortmund No.1 Roman Weidenfeller to Aston Villa. The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer in the summer, but quite why he would want to swap the Bundesliga leaders for relegation-threatened Villa is anyone's guess.

10.26: Be sure to keep leaving us your comments and any rumours you may have heard through the grapevine. That's what eddie has done, suggesting that Liverpool need a more capable defensive midfielder than Lucas or Christian Poulsen:
I think Liverpool should go for Ghana defensive midfielder Antony Annan, who plays just like Makelele. He is also one of the best defensive midfielders in Noway and had a wonderfull World Cup, he will be able to solve the Reds' defensive midfield problem.
10.19: Fiorentina are ready to get rid of Adrian Mutu after he walked out on training , but while Cesena had previously been touted as a likely destination, Galatasary have now emerged as leading contenders for the troubled striker's signature.
