Here, I've been given a chance by a great club and hopefully playing here will lead to many more England appearances. Me and the gaffer spoke (about Arsenal) and he let me know where the land lay. I was more than happy with his explanation and I'd like to think the way I've played so far this season shows it's blatantly obvious that I'm happy to still be here.''

I want to retrieve my love of football with another team. I leave with more motivation and the strength to do better. In football, things can change within 24 hours.”

09.00 BST: Morning all, and it's a jam-packed transfer Sunday already. Here's some paper gossip for you.

News of the World: Liverpool may drop interest in PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen because of the Dutch club's £13m asking price. But they still want Carlton Cole and Paul Konchesky. Tottenham will turn their attentions to Giuseppe Rossi if their loan move for AC Milan's Klaas-Jan Huntelaar fails. They've also asked about the availability of Rio Ferdinand (?!) Craig Bellamy wants a permanent move to Cardiff if they gain promotion this season. Charles Insomnia's move to Birmingham has collapsed over wage demands.

The Sunday Express: Mario Gomez is tempted by a loan move to Liverpool. Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg will stay in Holland despite interest from Arsenal. West Ham, Wigan and Bolton are all monitoring Robert Pires (36), who is a free agent after leaving Villarreal.

The People: Jack Rodwell, £20m, to Manchester United. Is he the new Wayne Rooney? In terms of joining United from Everton at a young age for a big fee of course... Wigan could sign Franco Di Santo from Chelsea for £2m.

If Huntelaar is available, why doesn't Hodgson go after him? He's superior to someone like Toivonen, and not out of Liverpool's price range. Liverpool already have Aurelio, Insua, and Agger...why do they need Konchesky?

I like the sound of Mario Gomez in a Liverpool shirt! Doubt it'd happen though

Ola Toivonen is 2 times better than Carlton Cole. Mario Gomez on loan is also better than the move of Cole.

I like seeing that Liverpool is making moves at the end of the transfer window. There are still some holes in the squad and Roy will have his hands full figuring out the best place to play certain players as well as the formation. I think the signing of Raul, from everything I have read and seen, is a good move. With the addition of Cole and to some degree Poulsen, the central midfield will look good (though I admit I would love to see Aqua back, and Masch is truly incredible). I've heard Liverpool is being linked with Cole at West Ham and I think this is not the wisest of moves...yes, the Reds need a striker, but they also need a true winger and perhaps even another midfielder. Cole isn't Liverpool quality and I think they should look else where for a hitman.

Why does the gutter press continue to spread rumours about Everton players going to this club or that club? A message from Moyes to Ferguson, Wenger, Ancelotti and Mancini, why don't you develop your own young players instead of unsettling ours? If Rodwell does go to another club, he will become a bench warmer. These clubs and their managers do not have the ability or desire to nurture young talent. Rodwell should stay put. He should trust Moyes to take care of his career.
