17.48 BST: BREAKING NEWS! Olympiakos have confirmed the signing of Liverpool winger Albert Riera on a four-year deal.
17.43 BST: Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says he wants first-team football if he is not loaned out this season. Wilshere impressed with Bolton last season but says: "I just want to play. I haven't spoken to the boss yet, so I'll speak to him and see what happens."
17.24 BST: Roma coach Claudio Ranieri admits his attempts to sign Nicolas Burdisso on a permanent basis could be scuppered by Inter's financial demands. "Burdisso? If Inter continue with the amount they are asking for, I'm afraid we cannot afford him," Ranieri said. "They must come down to a reasonable request, taking into account that they did not even include him in their Champions League squad last season."
17.08 BST: New Juve boss Luigi del Neri has admitted that he may sell Brazilian playmaker Diego. The tactician is known to favour a 4-4-2 formation, meaning he may have little need for the former Werder Bremen star. “Here, no one is unsellable," Del Neri said. "If I must keep Diego, Diego must be a striker. It doesn't seem to me like there is much better around."
16.50 BST: As promised, here is Harry Harris' story on Ramires choosing to join Chelsea over Manchester City. A £20 million deal looks imminent.
16.25 BST: Portsmouth might be under a transfer embargo, but they have been given permission to sign three new players in order to take them up to a squad of 20. "The Football League is working with the club to help it reduce its wage bill," a Football League spokesman told the Portsmouth News. "As part of this process, it has given the club permission to bring in replacement players on a case-by-case basis."
16.11 BST: We're told by our very own Harry Harris that Brazil midfielder Ramires will be joining Chelsea this summer. More on that later.
15.46 BST: Real Betis striker Mariano Pavone will spend the next season at River Plate, after the two clubs arranged a one-year loan deal.
15.39 BST: Sao Paulo have rejected a bid from Lazio for midfielder Hernanes.
15.25 BST: Four, yes FOUR, Premier League clubs are interested in signing Arsenal's Mikael Silvestre. No idea why though.
14.55 BST: Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud says the club have not received any bids for playmaker Yoann Gourcuff, though he insists Manchester City were interested in the France international. “For now, I have not received any bids,” he told RMC. "I think that before the start of the World Cup, Manchester City were very hot on him."

14.20 BST: Graham Dorrans was the subject of interest from West Ham this summer but signed a new contract with promoted West Brom. The Scottish midfielder says his head was never turned. “I am delighted that it’s sorted out and I can look forward to getting the season started,” he said. “But my mind was always focused on starting the season here anyway because I was contracted here."
13.58 BST: Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck admits he may be forced to go out on loan this season. Sunderland have already shown an interest. "My main aim is to be part of the first team set-up but I am happy to go on loan if the manager wants me to. I just want to keep playing games and improving."
13.37 BST: Click Lancashire reports that Marseille are willing to offer £8.5 million for Wigan Athletic midfielder Charles N’Zogbia. The former Newcastle man has also attracted interest from Sunderland and Birmingham this summer.
13.24 BST: BREAKING NEWS! Wigan have formally completed the signing of Hamilton midfielder James McArthur. The Scot joins his former SPL colleague, James McCarthy, at the DW Stadium.
13.18 BST: Manchester City may be signing left-back Aleksandr Kolarov from Lazio, but Wayne Bridge is happy to fight for his place in Roberto Mancini's side. An offer from Liverpool could change all that though...
12.55 BST: Marcos Angeleri is free to begin his Sunderland career after resolving his outstanding passport issues, the Sunderland Echo reports. The defender is now available for the club’s pre-season campaign after obtaining an Italian passport.
12.41 BST: Harry Redknapp has reiterated that he wants to sign a new goalkeeper for Tottenham, with Stipe Pletikosa the man in question. "That's a possibility, we're looking to take a loan there. I've got Gomes and I've got Carlo, which is good, but the young lad David Button is going out on loan so I feel we need three 'keepers."
12.27 BST: The Journal reports that Newcastle United expect to complete the loan signing of Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley when he returns from his club's pre-season tour of the USA.
12.12 BST: Celtic have made a move for Israeli international midfielder Biram Kayal.
11.57 BST: It appears Albert Riera's arrival in Athens for talks with Olympiakos has sparked a mini-riot. Crazy. Mind you I think Darius Vassell got a similar reception...
11.43 BST: Stoke boss Tony Pulis has denied suggestions that he is considering an offer for Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O’Neil. "It's agents and other people talking about Gary," he said. "There's been no contact between the clubs." Pulis has also denied holding an interest in Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega.
11.27 BST: Portuguese daily A Bola believes Benfica’s Ramires is close to joining Chelsea. The newspaper reports that Portuguese football was always a stepping stone to the Premier League for the Brazil international. Kia Joorabchian, the man who brought Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano to West Ham, is believed to be at the centre of negotiations.
11.17 BST: In the Dutch press, Chelsea technical director Frank Arnesen has told AD that two Premier League clubs are rivalling Feyenoord for the possible loan signing of Franco di Santo, who spent last season on loan with Blackburn Rovers.

10.50 BST: According to France Football, Spartak Moscow have made a €20 million offer for Lille forward Gervniho, who impressed at the World Cup with Ivory Coast. However, the player may hold out to see if interest from Liverpool, Inter Milan or Manchester City materialises into a concrete offer.
10.39 BST: Corriere dello Sport carries quotes from Ronaldinho’s agent in which he states definitively the forward’s future lies with AC Milan. LA Galaxy are strong suitors, but Ronaldinho’s brother and representative, Roberto de Assis, says: “The bond that has been created with the Rossoneri is beautiful.
10.24 BST: One man in demand this summer is Benfica midfielder Ramires after he caught the eye for Brazil during the World Cup finals in South Africa. A number of Europe’s top teams are interested and the player told Sport: “To me it would be a dream to play in a team like Barcelona, Real Madrid or Chelsea.” Manchester City are also believed to be suitors as they continue their quest to sign every midfielder in world football.
10.03 BST: BREAKING NEWS! Titus Bramble has signed for Sunderland from Wigan on a three-year deal.
09.57 BST: Staying with the Catalan press, and Sport reports Barca flop Alex Hleb will be allowed to return to the Premier League this season. The former Arsenal midfielder is available for €5 million and is interesting around five English clubs.
09.40 BST: Mundo Deportivo are keen to underline that Cesc Fabregas remains Barcelona’s No. 1 target this summer, but if Pep Guardiola fails to get his hands on the Arsenal captain, then the paper reports Germany’s World Cup star Mesut Ozil will be their second choice. Bordeaux’s Yoann Gourcuff and Juventus playmaker Diego are other names in contention.
09.33 BST: Raul may have been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur but it appears the Real Madrid legend is destined for the Bundesliga. Speaking in Marca, Schalke coach Felix Magath said: “I am convinced that Raul will end up playing for Schalke 04 next season.” Reports in Germany say Raul has already signed a two-year deal with the club.
09.16 BST: Marca reports that Atletico Madrid are on the brink of signing Luis Filipe from Deportivo. The Brazilian left back will arrive in the Spanish capital on Friday to undergo a medical.
08.58 BST: Under the headline ‘Bye Bye Balo’Gazzetta dello Sport reports Manchester City and Inter Milan have agreed a fee of €35 million for talented young forward Mario Balotelli. These kind of reports have been floating around for a few days now, so caution must be exercised for the moment, but Inter are believed to be looking at Dirk Kuyt and Diego Forlan as replacements.
08.52 BST: Although Maicon is the defensive priority for Real, Jose Mourinho may also attempt to prise David Luiz from Benfica as they seek a new centre back. Ricardo Carvalho is an option, though at 32 he may be too old, while AC Milan’s Thiago Silva and Porto’s Bruno Alves are also under consideration.
08.38 BST: Maicon has been the subject of a transfer tussle between Inter Milan and Real Madrid this summer, but the right back has made clear where he believes his future lies. “I want to go to Madrid,” he says in AS. “It would be a dream come true. I’ve had Mourinho has a coach and I would like to work for him again.”
08.21 BST: Angolan international Gilberto has been released by Egyptian giants Al Ahly after eight seasons at the club. The Egyptian champions are only allowed a quota of three foreign players in their squad and have opted for new recruit Mohamed Ghaddar instead of Gilberto. Ouch.
08.13 BST: Having decided not to continue his career in League One, Franck Queudrue is set to join Greek side Panionios.
07.57 BST: New Zealand international striker Shane Smeltz has returned to A-League club Gold Coast United after a breakdown in his transfer to Chinese club Shandong Luneng.
07.51 BST: Mathieu Flamini - remember him? - could be set to join Aston Villa for £4 million as they weight up a swoop to take him away from AC Milan.
07.38 BST: Benfica and Brazil midfield star Ramires will reportedly decide in the next 24 hours whether he will join Chelsea or Manchester City this summer. Presumably the clubs get some say though.
07.21 BST: Javier Mascherano is ready to walk out on Anfield and link up with former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez at Inter Milan. Reports suggest he will cost as much as £25 million.
07.02 BST:The Daily Star: Arjen Robben says that Liverpool are a real force to be reckoned with now that they have Joe Cole. West Ham are set to seal a £19 million deal for Loic Remy and Milton Caraglio next week. Tony Pulis wants £1.5 million for James Beattie after knocking back a loan bid from Blackburn.
The Daily Mirror: Manuel Almunia is being left out of the Arsenal squad, so Arsene Wenger will step up his bid for Fulham's Mark Schwarzer. Nemanja Vidic will get a pay hike of £90,000-a-week to fend off interest from Real Madrid. Marseille are set to bid £8 million for Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia. Stoke are considering blowing £12 million on Carlton Cole. Teenager Marcos Alonso (of Real Madrid) is set to sign for Bolton for £2.2 million.
The Guardian: Fulham are targeting Sven-Goran Eriksson as their new boss now that Martin Jol has been forced to stay at Ajax. Sol Campbell is set to stay at Arsenal for the coming season after reportedly accepting a one-year contract from Wenger.
Daily Mail: Southampton are looking to sign Benjani on a free, while Nottingham Forest have rejected a £400,000 offer for Nathan Tyson from the Saints.
