Posted by Soccernet Staff on 08/28/2009

We'll be keeping you as up-to-date as possible on the latest transfer talk in On The Move. You can catch the morning newspaper gossip in Paper Round, read up on all the Latest Transfers and then follow the developing stories in our constantly updated transfer blog here:

20.32 The weirdness at Pompey continues. Jamie O'Hara first signs a new deal to stay at Tottenham until 2013 and then heads to Fratton Park on loan to join Kevin-Prince Boateng. What an odd selection of players they have there now of whom O'Hara will surely get the first-team football he craves.

19.57 CSKA Moscow will not be able to play Wagner Love against Manchester United in the Champions League as the "homesick" Brazilan striker has returned to Palmeiras on loan in an attempt to win a place at next summer's World Cup.

19.21 A new addition for Steve Bruce at Sunderland in Lyon's Ghanaian John Mensah. Loan deal keeps him at the Stadium of Light until next summer.

17.30 Portsmouth make their third signing of the day with midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng joining from Tottenham Hotspur. There has been a veritable flurry of activity at Pompey today, things are certainly hotting up ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

16.59 The news just keeps on coming from Portsmouth as Ivorian forward Aruna Dindane has finalised his move to Fratton Park. The Lens striker will reportedly cost the club in the region of £4m.

15.49 Harry Redknapp has claimed that he is still hoping to retain the services of Roman Pavlyuchenko despite the striker's desire for first team football meaning his exit is possible before Tuesday's deadline.

14.56 It is now confirmed that Tuncay has joined Robert Huth in moving to Stoke City. What a double deal that is for the Potters.

14.38 Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has denied suggestions that left-back Maynor Figueroa could be heading to Sunderland.

14.14 It is all go at Portsmouth as the club are believed to have agreed a £4m fee with Spurs for Kevin-Prince Boateng as well as asking to take Jamie O'Hara on loan.

14.09 Carlo Ancelotti has denied reports in France that Chelsea have made a £57m offer for Franck Ribery but the Italian has conceded that Andriy Shevchenko will be permitted to leave the club.

13.50 Swansea City have confirmed the club record capture of Craig Beattie, paying up to £800,000 for the West Brom striker.

13.35 In other news from the continent, Arjen Robben has completed his move from Real Madrid to Bayern Munich, with the winger becoming the second high-profile Dutch departure of the day at the Bernabeu.

13.14 Wesley Sneijder has completed his move to Inter Milan after passing a medical. Thank goodness that saga is out of the way.

12.56 On a busy afternoon, it is also believed that Wigan Athletic midfielder Michael Brown has now joined Portsmouth. That revolving door at Fratton Park is getting a lot of use today.

12.41 Everton have completed the signing of Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin. The Frenchman comes in as a replacement for Joleon Lescott following his move to Manchester City.

12.07 Pompey show no signs of resting with local reports claiming that the club are closing in on Tottenham midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng. There looks to be a real rush of activity ahead at Fratton Park.

11.52 Zamalek have told Portsmouth that they will have to wait until January to sign former Wigan striker Amr Zaki. Judging by last season, he will be a spent force by then!

11.48 Newcastle manager Chris Hughton has described reports linking the club with Tottenham defender Gareth Bale as 'speculation'.

11.43 Real Madrid have confirmed that they have accepted an offer from Inter Milan for Wesley Sneijder. It looks as though this lengthy saga could finally be coming to an end.

11.27 Sky Sports are reporting that Sunderland have rejected an offer from Portsmouth for Nyron Nosworthy. Pompey have already signed Tommy Smith and are also looking at Wigan's Michael Brown in a busy conclusion to the transfer window.

11.18 Sources in Italy report that Fiorentina have told Chelsea there is no chance of the English club signing Montenegro international Stevan Jovetic.

11.10 Reports in Spain claim that Bolton have failed with a bid for Real Betis star Achille Emana. The Sevillan club were relegated last season and, in a World Cup year, the Cameroon midfielder could be looking to move.

11.04 Staying in Egypt, sources in the country claim that Celtic are attempting to sign Zamalek playmaker Shikabala.

11.02 Reports in Egypt claim that new Portsmouth owner Sulaiman Al Fahim will attempt to make Amr Zaki one of his first signings after taking sole control of the club on Wednesday.

10.45 Roy Keane is still pursuing the transfers of Sunderland pair Carlos Edwards and Grant Leadbitter and is hopeful that the deals will be done over the weekend.

10.15 Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Wigan midfielder Michael Brown is in talks with Portsmouth regarding a move to Fratton Park.

09.48 We have our first signing of the day as West Ham complete their deal for Livorno striker Alessandro Diamanti. The fee is undisclosed at present.

09.25 Stoke have been linked with an unlikely move for Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones and Steve Bruce has described Tony Pulis's interest as 'bizarre'.

09.00 There may well be one more big transfer brewing in what remains of the window as France Football is reporting that Chelsea have made a £57m offer for Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery. Does that represent value for money?

08.45 As well as bringing you all the latest moves, we like to quash some of the more outlandish rumours too and the agent of Marc Janko, the Austrian goal machine, has firmly denied that his client could be moving to Fulham this summer.

08.30 Just as a heads up, Sylvain Distin could well be joining Everton today while Tuncay is close to moving to Stoke and Richard Dunne is apparently on his way to Aston Villa, even if Martin O'Neill has played that down a touch.

08.00 Good morning and welcome to what will no doubt be another busy day in the transfer market. There are only five days left in the window and plenty of deals to be done. We will bring you up to the minute updates throughout the day so don't go anywhere.

How about Arsenal? no transfer??????????please wenger....bring some experience player...............

Every time l see Richard Dunne in defence for ManC he looks like a accident waiting to happen. A waste of money at 6 million, okay for a free.l would sooner the Villa spent the money on a creative mid fielder and they also dropped the ball letting Tuncay go to Stoke for 5million. Sooner spend the money on Tuncay than Dunne.

the only problem with arsenal is wenger.while other clubs are buzy reinforcing there squad,he is selling his stars,it seems the club is under a spell or contempt with 4th position.can someone plllllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzz tell me why he sold adebayor without going for villa or aguero.the season is a very longway, and injuries are inevitable.kolo toure is out without replacement.song is definitely not achampions league material.so pllllllllllzzzzzzzz baba wenger we need men not chicken legs.
