20.59 Julio Baptista will not leave Roma to join Inter. "I don't understand why there's so much talk of Julio leaving Rome. I haven't spoken with anyone, not Inter or any other team,'' said his agent.

20.09 Manchester United centre-back Nemanja Vidic would apparently love to join Barcelona. "Vidic would be delighted to play at Barca as his dream is to go to the Spanish league," his agent Paolo Fabbri told RAC1.

19.19 Germany U-21 star Sandro Wagner has attracted the interest of a number of foreign clubs, with Dutch outfits PSV and Groningen heading the queue, according to Der Westen.

18.43 Highly-rated Arsenal youngster Nacer Barazite has set his sights on a loan to boost his chances of regular football. ''I'd be delighted to join another Premier League outfit on loan,'' he said. 17.25 Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink has been linked with struggling French side Saint-Etienne. After two Ligue 1 matches of the new season, the club are still seeking their first points and have targeted the tall Dutchman as the answer to their scoring problems.

16.35 Stoke City manager Tony Pulis is chasing five new signings before the end of the transfer window. "We are desperately hanging on to four or five deals, but we will do it the right way," Pulis said.
