21.45 Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart will be allowed to leave Real Madrid ona free transfer after falling out of favourat the Bernabeu.

19.58 AC Milan are keen to take David Beckham back on loan from Los Angeles Galaxy in January, according to a spokesman for the England midfielder.

18.48: The Manchester Evening News is linking Manchester United with a move for Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

18.28: Hoffenheim have cancelled the contract of summer signing Prince Tagoe because of concerns over his health.

17.33: Hull have called a press conference for tomorrow afternoon when it is expected they will announce the signings of Stephen Hunt and Kamel Ghilas.

17.14: Werder Bremen have confirmed they are still interested in taking Claudio Pizarro from Chelsea, if the price is right.

16.57: Steve Bruce has got his man! Sunderland have completed the £6million signing of Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole.

16.18: Aston Villa have signed goalkeeper Andy Marshall on a one-year deal. The world is going mad!

15.21: The Serbian Daily Press reports that Nemanja Matic will sign for Chelsea. The young Serbia international says terms have almost been agreed.

15.10: Wigan should soon be able to confirm the signings of Rayo Vallecano pair Antonio Amaya and Mohamed Diame, boss Roberto Martinez has told the Wigan Evening Post:

14.49: Amazingly, Vincent Kompany is being linked with a move from Manchester City to Barcelona.

14.40: Coventry look set to sign Martin Cranie having agreed an undisclosed fee with Portsmouth.

14.26: Hull City are closing in on another striker as Real Madrid's Alvaro Negredo looks set to sign, according to the player's agent. "I have had calls with the chairman. He (Negredo) likes the team and it's possible he will play in the Premier League,'' he said.

13.59: Schalke are willing to give Brazilian defender Mineiro a contract until the end of the season if he can convince coach Felix Magath in training this week.

13.32: French youngster Dorian Dervite has revealed his desire to secure a move away from Tottenham, meaning the club now have just one fit centre-back and that's Sebastien Bassong.

12.57: Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie is close to joining Coventry. He'll become the latest player from Fratton to get out of the club as quickly as possible. At this rate, they might not even be able to field eighteen players for the start of the season.

12.37: Everton are weighing up a move for Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O'Neil to bolster their tiny squad.

12.26: Giampaolo Pazzini is not leaving Sampdoria according to general director, Giuseppe Marotta. Chelsea had reportedly made tentative enquiries over an €18m transfer.

11.49: Jerome Rothen has made a positive impression on Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce in training. He was once a good player for Monaco, so who knows, he might get a shot at the Premier League.

11.09: West Ham are reportedly in for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh. His boss Laurent Blanc will only let him go to a ''big club'' so Sunderland fans will be pretty angry if he heads to Upton Park.

10.43: Neven Subotic's agent has dismissed reports linking Arsenal with a move for the Borussia Dortmund defender. The Gunners are in for a giant defender, but look likely to miss out on this one.

10.17: Milan are replacing some of their older player, with goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac heading out of the door. "We are about to rescind Kalac's contract. If all goes well we will sign Flavio Roma," vice president Adriano Galliani told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

9.47: West Ham United are still hopeful of signing both Bayern Munich's Luca Toni and Barcelona's Eidur Gudjohnsen before the transfer window closes. It would be a coup if they can.

9.25: Jose Reina believes Liverpool will struggle to replace Xabi Alonso after describing the midfielder as a 'fabulous conductor'. Hardly an endorsement of new-boy Alberto Aquilani.

9.08: Villa, meanwhile, are believed to have made an unsatisfactory bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Stephen Warnock. £4m, how dare they! Rovers want an amazing £12m for the versatile player.

8.28: Wesley Sneijder may be away on international duty, but negotiations between Real Madrid and Inter have apparently continued in his absence. Hold on though, because Martin O'Neill and Aston Villa are interested as well.

8.08: David Moyes has said again that he has 'no intention' of selling defender Joleon Lescott. The centre-back wants to leave, but even a £22m bid doesn't seem to be able to persuade the Scot to sell.

7.30: Bayern Munich have claimed they are 'waiting for contact' from Chelsea over their bid to sign Jose Bosingwa. £12m should do the trick, but it may rest on them getting Maicon in from Inter as a replacement.
