On The Move

We'll be keeping you as up-to-date as possible on the latest transfer talk in On The Move. You can catch the morning newspaper gossip in Paper Round, read up on all the Latest Transfers and then follow the developing stories in our constantly updated transfer blog here:

11.00pm: On a day when Man City were in the news signing Emmanuel Adebayor, the final piece of news appears to be the Eastlands outfit turning to Nemanja Vidic. Seems a ridiculous story, but you might have thought that when they first went for Ade. We'll keep you posted on how it develops.

10.06pm: A report suggests that Xabi Alonso's move to Real Madrid could interest Liverpool if Wesley Sneijder is included as a part of the deal.

8.48pm: Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola says he has not discussed personal terms with Barcelona yet. "The clubs have found an agreement, now we'll see," he said.

8.14pm: Real Zaragoza have reached an agreement for the signing of Nigerian striker Ikechukwu Uche.

7.42pm: West Ham United midfielder Julian Faubert has said that he is unsure of his future after a failed loan move to Real Madrid. Given he fell asleep on the bench and seemed to spend most of the time scratching himself, we're unsurprised. Any takers?

7.10pm: Bad news for Carlos Tevez, good news for Arsenal fans. Emmanuel Adebayor has finally signed for City.

6.52pm: Mark Hughes remains in the hunt for John Terry but admitted the club are prepared to end their pursuit of the Chelsea defender if something doesn't happen soon.

6.23pm: Arsene Wenger says that he won't spend the Adebayor cash unless he has to. Arsenal have plenty of strikers.. apparently.. but there was no mention of the badly needed defensive midfielder. They conceded two goals to Barnet for crying out loud!

6.18pm: FC Porto left-back Aly Cissokho has completed his move tp Lyon for 15m euros, according to reports in Portugal. Hopefully there'll be no more teething problems [sorry].

5.28pm: David Villa could be set to stay at Valencia after all as Barcelona turn their attentions to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. "It is decided, I will stay at Valencia," Villa is quoted as saying.

5.13pm: Championship manager [the computer game] legend Cherno Samba is after a contract with Swindon Town and they will decide over the weekend whether to offer it to him.

4.51pm: Bordeaux are keen to bolster their defence and as they can't seem to land Mikael Silvestre, they are pondering a swoop for out of favour Juventus defender Jonathan Zebina.

4.20pm: Gabriel Heinze is being lined up by Marseille coach Didier Deschamps as the French side try to add some extra quality to their team.

4.05pm: Central and North American champions Atlante have completed the signing of former Argentina midfielder Santiago Solari in a two-year deal, the Mexican club said.

3.55pm: Hull have dismissed reports linking them with controversial Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton. Assistant manager Brian Horton said: ''He has obviously had issues and that is a shame because he can be a very good footballer but at this present time I don't think it's an area that really needs to be looked at.'' No kidding.

3.43pm: Birmingham City defender Krystian Pearce is set for a loan move to Championship side Peterborough United, according to BBC Sport.

3.05pm: Benfica are understood to be in the market for a new defensive midfielder and are believed to have made a bid for Real Madrid youngster Javi Garcia.

2.35pm: Now Emmanuel Adebayor looks like he'll have a medical at City this afternoon. We thought he'd had it already, but appears to have been stalling over his move because of how it looks to his fans in Togo.

2.33pm: Well, after some Ibra/Eto'o stuff of interest this morning, we're back to Moritz Volz's free transfer to Malaga. Sorry.

2.03pm: Swedish U-21 star Rasmus Elm is being tracked by Everton, who have reportedly put in a bid for the midfielder.

1.16pm: Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is looking to make a move for Crystal Palace youngster Victor Moses. Strange, as he's not from Swansea...

12.47pm: Something out of the papers this morning. Joey Barton is close to a move to Hull, for around £3m. Incredible that he still commands a transfer fee, and that anyone is actually interested in signing him.

12.27pm: Chelsea are in for Roma hitman Mirko Vucinic, and they are ready to spend 25m euros on him apparently.

12.14pm: Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira is set to clinch a move to United Arab Emirates outfit Al-Jazira.

11.58am: Julio Cruz is waiting for a response from Lazio, who have asked him to wait patiently until they can resolve the Goran Pandev situation. The Macedonian could leave, with Arsenal interested, and Cruz could be the perfect replacement.

11.34am: Bordeaux have not received any offers for reported Arsenal target Marouane Chamakh, coach Laurent Blanc has confirmed. So he might not go anywhere at all.

11.04am: Inter are planning to move for Sampdoria ace Antonio Cassano once the proposed Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Samuel Eto'o deal goes through.

10.56am: Gareth Barry has hit back at Rafa Benitez, saying he has a lack of respect after the Liverpool boss questioned the motives behind his move from Aston Villa to Manchester City.

10.26am: Marouane Chamakh is determined to leave Bordeaux, with Arsenal, Blackburn and Sunderland all linked with his services. He wants a move to the Emirates, but has told the Gunners to bid soon, or he'll choose another club.

10.02am: Luis Fabiano's agent his hit out at the fact his player is not being snapped up by Milan. "I feel as if I am being taken for a ride. It's not possible that one of the biggest clubs in the world allow the player to slip through their fingers for only a few million," Jose Fuentes told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

9.27am: Harry Redknapp says that he'd be keen to add Peter Crouch to increase the number of former Portsmouth players at Tottenham.

9.00am: Morning all, some Chelsea news around this morning as Carlo Ancelotti reckons no-one is safe for their first-team place. No 'untouchables'. I wonder what JT makes of that.

I believe Arsenal will perform better and score more goals if they let go of Adebayor and Bendtner. These two guys are guilty of giving out balls and wasting yet they do less fighting and defending. Two more additions will do better one holding midfielder and a defender.

i think arsenal needs a well feared front man in the calibre of zlatan. Adebayor and Bendtner cost the club so much in the past two seasons. Arsenal now has enough quality in the middle and defence, they can make do with adebayor and bendtner and buy one good finisher that will partner van persie, eduardo, vela and walcot.

i agree with both of u that bendtner and adebayor hold arsenal back from there full potential and i would love 2 c them both go. But all of us know that won't be the case. GOOOOOOOOO eduardo da silva!!!!

Does anyone even care what Hull does? Let them say Joey... who cares.

Please do not let Wesley Sneijder move to Liverpool, that'll ruin his future.

The departure of Adebayor is only good if there will be arrival of another good strong striker in the club as for me,am not either confortable with the way Van persie play he has fail to mature physically neither does he fight for the ball, besides the number of goals he scored last compaign considering the number of games he played is not convincing.
