We'll be keeping you as up-to-date as possible on the latest transfer talk in On The Move. You can catch the morning newspaper gossip in Paper Round, read up on all the Latest Transfers and then follow the developing stories in our constantly updated transfer blog here:

11.59pm: To round off the night's gossip, the Guardian reckon Emmanuel Adebayor wants more time to think over his move to Man City because of how it will be viewed in Togo. More on the soon to be ex-Arsenal man tomorrow no doubt...

11.36pm: More Barcelona news. Boss Pep Guardiola has informed Eidur Gudjohnsen to find a new club, so West Ham are readying themselves.

11.06pm: Roma look like they'll be keeping defender Juan. The Brazilian international has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Manchester City, and AC Milan but his agent says there have been no offers for him.

10.51pm: Genoa have already signed Sergio Floccari, Hernan Crespo, Houssine Kharja, and Emiliano Moretti this summer and have now picked up Boca Juniors striker Rodrigo Palacio. They might also land midfielder Sebastian Battaglia from the same club.

10.07pm: Bad news for Lyon's striker search. “Following consultation with the board of directors, OGC Nice Cote d’Azur have decided to put an end to any negotiations with Olympique Lyonnais for Loic Remy,” an official release stated.

9.40pm: Alexander Hleb might just move on from Barcelona soon. "I'll try my best but if my situation doesn't improve then I will have to find another club," he said.

9.13pm: David Beckham has claimed he has nothing to apologise to Los Angeles Galaxy fans for as he is ''committed'' to the club. So he won't be leaving. Well, at least until his place in the England squad for 2010 comes under threat again.

8.48pm: A confirmed deal from earlier. Maxwell has signed for Barcelona for around 4m euros.

8.43pm: Real Madrid goalkeeper [yes he's still there] Jerzy Dudek also wants Xabi Alonso, a former Liverpool teammate, to join him in Spain.

8.17pm: Arjen Robben says his father (and agent) has talked with Tottenham, but that he is happy in Madrid for the moment. Spurs seem very keen to sign him up now they appear to have lost out to Villa for the signature of Stewart Downing.

7.52pm: Bayern Munich general manager Uli Hoeness understands Franck Ribery's desire to quit the club for Real Madrid. ''I understand Franck completely," Hoeness said. ''We are talking about sums that none of us can understand, and the bloke is only 26." Doesn't mean he'll let him go though.

7.29pm: Inter full-back Maxwell will sign for Barcelona on a five-year deal according to Sky Sport Italia. They do need a left-back and he won't get much of a game at the San Siro following the emergence of teenage wonderkid Davide Santon, so it seems a good match.

7.03pm: Juventus have signed Fiorentina's Brazil midfielder Felipe Melo. They paid 20.5m euros ($28.80m) plus winger Marco Marchionni for the 26-year-old

6.23pm: Rangers have accepted a bid for Barry Ferguson from Birmingham. So expect some sly hand gestures on the Blues' bench this season.

6.13pm: Emmanuel Adebayor has been given a work permit ahead of his proposed £25m move to Manchester City, so he should be set to sign anytime soon.

5.53pm: Bafana star striker Bernard Parker has completed a move to Dutch side FC Twente to join up with Sccchteve McClaren.

5.49pm: JT is going nowhere as Peter Kenyon says he's ''not for sale''. We've heard that kind of talk before though.

5.39pm: Highly-rated South Korea winger Lee Chung-yong is in line for a switch to Bolton in a deal worth in excess of £2m.

4.59pm: AC Milan have been told they will have to up their offer for Luis Fabiano if they are to have any chance of signing him.

4.48pm: Wolfsburg have signed Germany Under-21 defender Fabian Johnson from second division 1860 Munich.

3.58pm: West Brom captain Jonathan Greening has handed in a written transfer request. It comes after Fulham had a bid in the region of £2.5m rejected.

3.37pm: Owen Coyle insists Burnley have played it by the book in their bid to sign striker Marcus Tudgay from Sheffield Wednesday.

3.03pm: Michel Bastos should seal his £18m move to Lyon from Lille on Thursday.

adebayor can leave on free transfer. just tell wenger to by a perfect finisher that half chance to get the goal and not 20 chance and only 1goal. also replace the ageing and lazy Gallas.

I welcome the signing of Stuart Downing and I truly hope that happens today so that we move on to sealing other deals, like Tuncay.
But Whatever Martin O'neal does, he should not let Ashley Young leave!
We need him so much now even more than ever, especially with under achievers,Man City armimg to overthrow us.We don't need to sell anymore players but instead we should buy and buy!
So bring Downing,Delphi,Hangeland,Ozul,Tuncay,Veloso, stephen Defour and many good ones!!!!!!!!!

I hope that Liverpool can ward off the spanish wallet and somehow keep Mascherano because they can possibly replace Alonso if he goes back to the native country, but Mascherano is the Sherriff of Liverpool's half__ he is why Red's fans can't remember the name of a dominantly violent African def-mid he replaced that pretty much single handedly upset Barcelona a few years with one of the best def-mid performances of all time... (Sissoko) ..........MASCH is BETTER THAN HIM NO DOUBT!!... I cannot even fantasize about anyone in Europe i would rather have in the central mid-defenseive holding spot.

I think that barry ferguson moving away from Rangers FC is a god send. He in my eyes is still a disgrace to Rangers for his two fingered actions and would of let him go on a free transfer. Unlucky Birmingham you have signed yourself a top notch waste of space. Kevin Thompson and Pedro Mendez is a fantastic midfield and always was without that thorn in the foot Ferguson.

With Carlos Tevez no matter what team you support including Manchester united you have to give praise to the guy. Sat on the bench whilst the "fantastic" Berbatov manages to laze about the pitch. Tevez who came on and worked like a trojan never got a sniff of a chance. The fact that hes moved to city shows he has balls of steel cause no doubt he will have it hard over the next couple of weeks and maybe months but hes a great player maybe short of a few brain cells.

adebayors' exit from arsenal is a good move for both him and the club.he is a good player who left quite a good remark during his stay at the emirates despite his inconsistencies.we wish him well in his career and are all hopeful that the boss arsene wenger gets us a remarkable striker for his replacement. UP THE GUNNERS
