We'll be keeping you as up-to-date as possible on the latest transfer talk in On The Move. You can catch the morning newspaper gossip in Paper Round, read up on all the Latest Transfers and then follow the developing stories in our constantly updated transfer blog here:

23.59 That's it for tonight. Join us again tomorrow for all the latest as it happens.

23.00 It looks like a quiet end to the day.

21.52 Everton are expected to formally reject a second bid from Manchester City for England defender Joleon Lescott on Thursday morning.

21.01 And now Sky Sports say that Newcastle have accepted a £9m bid from Wolfsburg for Obefemi Martins.

20.32: Sky Sports are reporting that Manchester City are back in with a £19m bid for Everton's Joleon Lescott.

19.51: Javier Mascherano's brother has told a radio station that the player wants to join Barcelona.

19.22: Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has revealed that Andrea Dossena wants too much cash to move from Liverpool. Marino said: "Dossena? We have taken a break in order to reflect on this. The move is therefore on hold."

17.59: Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Kolo Toure from Arsenal.

17.36: Lyon have confirmed the capture of France international striker Bafetimbi Gomis from Saint-Etienne for €13m.

17.30: Kolo Toure has agreed terms with Man City and passed his medical. He will sign a four-year contract at Eastlands.

17.14: Amr Zaki's agent has confirmed that Portsmouth are the only club to have lodged an interest in his services. Sounds like they are asking for trouble.

16.52: Werder Bremen have not given up hope of signing Claudio Pizarro from Chelsea, despite the player recently stating he wants to fight for his place with the Blues.

16.36: Hamburg have completed the signing of Czech Republic defender David Rozehnal from Lazio on a three-year contract.

16.34: Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has welcomed the capture of Alvaro Arbeloa and hopes another of his former Liverpool team-mates, Xabi Alonso, follows suit. Don't we all Jerzy; if only for the waiting to be over.

16.24: Kolo Toure's move to City could hit a snag after it was reported he could have been in line for a severance payment should he have completed the two remaining years of his Gunners contract. After eight years at the club, he would have also been awarded a testimonial and it's possible that this could complicate matters with his transfer.

15.54: Hamburg have clinched the signing of Czech Republic international defender David Rozehnal on a three-year deal from Lazio.

15.31: Liverpool's hopes of signing Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler have taken a blow, as his agent confirmed he won't be leaving Italy. Arsenal have also been hovering around him for a while, so don't rule anything out just yet.

15.10: Blackburn are lining up a deal for MFK Kosice starlet Dionatan Nascimento instead. Some real high profile signings at Ewood this summer...

14.19: Alvaro Arbeloa is closing on his move to Real Madrid after passing his medical. We're still waiting to hear news on Alonso though.

14.16: Lyon have officially ended their summer-long pursuit of Nice forward Loic Remy, but could still sign Gomis as they are after more firepower.

14.06: Algerian international Kamel Ghilas has seen his proposed move to Blackburn Rovers collapse at the eleventh hour, after apparently failing the required medical tests.

13.32: Lyon appear poised to sign Bafetimbi Gomis from local rivals Saint-Etienne, according to popular French sportspaper L’Equipe.

12.56: Roma defender Juan will be staying where he is according to the club's sporting director, Daniele Prade, who has rubbished rumours of a move to Fiorentina.

12.28: Stoke midfielder Matthew Etherington has urged manager Tony Pulis to bring former team-mate Dean Ashton to the club.

12.05: Burnley manager Owen Coyle's plans to negotiate a deal for winger Fernando Guerrero have been delayed as the president of the 19-year-old's club Independiente del Valle is currently on holiday.

11.59: Bayern Munich President Franz Beckenbauer has set midfielder Franck Ribery's price tag at around €94m. Presumably in an attempt to finally end Real Madrid's interest in the Frenchman.

11.43: Brazilian youngster Zezinho is being linked with a move to Arsenal, as Arsene Wenger has reportedly offered his present club, Juventude, €1.7 million. That'll please Gunners' fans, another kid.

11.37: Mido has confirmed he is ready to take a pay-cut to secure a move away from Middlesbrough. Although it'll still take a lot to persuade someone to take a punt on him.

11.16: According to the Italian media, Barcelona defender Martin Caceres is closing on move to Juventus and will undergo a medical ahead of his €12m switch to Turin

10.44: Arsenal defender Kolo Toure is travelling to Manchester for a medical with City. Providing he passes it, we can't see personal terms being an issue.

10.34: Liverpool have confirmed they have agreed a £3.5m fee with Real Madrid for the transfer of Alvaro Arbeloa. No word on Alonso though.

10.16: Bordeaux are poised to complete the signing of Michael Ciani after announcing they have reached an agreement with Lorient over the transfer of the defender.

10.13: Roma could be interested in giving Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko a way out of the club after Harry Redknapp signed Peter Crouch; although his agent insists the 27-year-old remains committed to Spurs.

09.56: David Rozehnal is set to become a Hamburg player after arriving in the northern Germany city from Rome last night.

09.46: Manchester City have reportedly agreed to loan out striker Valeri Bojinov to Serie A new boys Parma. If he doesn't do his knee before joining them.

09.28: Alex Hleb’s move from Barcelona to Serie A champions Inter is on the verge of collapsing, according to Sky Sport Italia. They say he'll choose to return to Stuttgart instead.

09.16: Hoffenheim midfielder Carlos Eduardo has signed a one-year extension to his contract. The Brazilian's new deal will keep him at the Bundesliga side until June 2013.

08.56: Ajax have offered goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer a new contract which could tie him to the Amsterdam giants until June 2014.

08.47: Amr Zaki's future looks unclear, but Portsmouth boss Paul Hart is ready to play with fire by taking the bad boy on loan.

08.22: Hull City manager Phil Brown is already eyeing the January transfer window as a period which could be crucial to the Tigers' aspirations for the coming season. And given the side virtually disappeared in the second half of the season, we can see why.

08.00: Chelsea are set to move, finally, for Andrea Pirlo as AC Milan have targeted Man City's Elano as a potential replacement.

Arsenal must buy, instead of selling all of their invincible players!!

Posted by charunga on 07/29/2009

Its very bad to arsenal to loose some of important player like Adebayou and Koro Toure, even Sir Alex he must look more player for making good racing to the champions.

Posted by mumeen on 07/29/2009

i am true gunners fan but we can compete with other top 4 wenger must sign one defender, blocking mildfielder and a strik

Posted by david on 07/29/2009

why is mr wenger so irresponsible, so you have 7 defenders and the best thing to do is to sell ur best 1...wow thats rili smart!
not to talk of how prudent he is in his spending, sign a striker, a world class d.m, and a fabulous replacement for kolo toure or kiss silver ware this season goodbye once again...
