On The Move

With Kaka gone and Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Real Madrid almost completed, speculation about who will be the next big summer transfer has turned to Franck Ribery.

The Sun report that Manchester United and Chelsea have made official bids to sign the Bayern Munich playmaker, but warn that Real Madrid are leading the race to sign the Frenchman who has also attracted interest from Barcelona.

However, the Guardian claim that Manchester United will end their pursuit of Ribery after deciding not to sign any players aged 26 or above for large transfer fees because of new financial limits which have been introduced at Old Trafford.

Ribery was 26 in April.

If you believe that story it might make you think twice about believing the Daily Star's report that Manchester United and Chelsea have a chance of landing £45m David Villa - the summer's other hot property - after the paper claimed his move to Real Madrid has stalled.

Villa was 27 last December.

The Daily Express view things differently and reckon Chelsea aren't interested in Villa at all and are instead targetting Inter Milan's £30m-rated striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In the Daily Mirror it is claimed that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has had talks with Real Madrid over a stunning £36m swoop for Arjen Robben, Gabriel Heinze and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

With Darren Bent, Roman Pavlyuchenko and David Bentley set for the exit Spurs are going to need replacements, and with Madrid needing to off-load players to make room for the new Galacticos.

And finally the Daily Star report that 29-year-old Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has revealed that he is considering quitting football at the end of his existing Anfield contract.

"I'll be 33 at the end of my contract, and it's doubtful whether I'll carry on," said Gerrard.

I just know we wont miss Ronaldo.

yes we wont miss Ronaldo. With the money of Ronaldo we can replace. it will be better without him.

Now that Ronaldo has moved to Real Madrid, we need a match maker at Old Trafford who will match Ronaldo and I believe Ribery is such a player although Ronaldo's boots may seem to big at the beginning for him.

All I know is that Christiano Ronaldo is the best player in world and sorry Man U, bad decision letting him go. We will greatly accept him and KaKa at the Barnebeu

WHAT'S FERGI A JOKE TRYING TO BUY TO BUY LIVERPOOL PLAYERS. JUST CAUSE RON LEFT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD TRY MAKING YOURSELF A FOOL. POOL AND UNITED DON'T DO BUSINESS.

Posted by Roy on 06/17/2009

That's what ALL Man U fans are saying. 'CR7 for life' and when he leaves - 'CR7 who?'. Typical stuff. Instead of giving a good 'you did well at Man U', you all are saying 'it's better that you left'.

Anyway, Spurs would have a hard time getting Huntelaar to play regularly with Keane and Defor, unless Harry is willing to play a 4-3-3 formation, with Modric, Lennon and possibly Ashley Young or Arjen Robben playing in a semi-diamond midfield. Heinze>Bale? No, he should give Bale the experience he needs, although Heinze can be a good cover at centre back.

Gerrard announcing his possible retirement - 4 years. Which means - 4 years for Liverpool to nurture a new Gerrard.

Chelsea better be ready to off-load Drogba if they want Ibra.

MANU is sleeping at the moment letting all possible replacements of CR7 to other clubs. They should really try Ribery,Robben,Sneijder,Benzema,Silva,Villa etc to get them ASAP on the board.
