On The Move

Another day, another rumour. Is it true? We've no idea, but even if it's not it's quite interesting.

The News of the World carry a story on Sunday claiming that megabucks Chelsea, annoyed at their lack of progress in the transfer market, are planning an audacious £50m swoop for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.

The paper claim that Chelsea's possible offer is designed to test the depth of Liverpool's financial concerns.

But given George Gillett's $550m deal to sell his NHL franchise it seems certain that any Chelsea offer will rebuffed.

That deal could help secure future funding at Anfield, end months of uncertainty and could also help keep the club's top names, like Xabi Alonso who, according the Sunday Mirror is also going to be subject to a bid from Chelsea.

The Sunday Times warn that Liverpool can also expect a bid for midfielder Javier Mascherano from Real Madrid, who are keen to hijack Barcelona's interest for the Argentine.

According to the News of the World Manchester United will spend £25m of their £80m Cristiano Ronaldo windfall on trying to sign Lyon striker Karim Benzema.

While a further £20m will go on trying beat Manchester City to the signature of Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, at least so say the Sunday Star.

And following Ronaldo's revelation that he decided to move to Real Madrid last summer, United have rewarded the loyalty shown by centre-back Nemanja Vidic by giving him a £1m-a-year pay rise, that from the News of the World.

Moving on, the same paper claim that Hull are keen to sign Newcastle striker Michael Owen, but will only offer him a meagre basic salary and ask him to prove his worth by earning massive bonuses for scoring goals.

And finally The People report that Sam Allardyce is about to lose the last few remaining friends he has in Bolton by trying to lure Kevin Davies to Blackburn.

Th best news this morning (if it is true) is that Michael Owen should actually be playing top flight football next season. I'm a great admirer of Michael and I can't wait to celebrate his first goal. Go Owen go.

chelsea 4 life, but the people in charge should try and make good signing on time, atleast, players with the extra-ordinary skills, like Torres if possible, they should look at Dutch league and make some signing. Chelsea 4 life.

It will be very ok if chelsea could land one of the most deadliest striker in the world. But there are all other raw talents out there which are waiting to be tapped. Check Ike Chukwu Uche of Getafe out, is a goal porcher and many of them like that

Chelsea should strictly forget about it!! Tevez will be foolish to leave man utd since Ronaldo is going and I expect tevez to get a full time fotball with Berbatov.
