Arsenal dipped their toes into the transfer water on Friday, though it was not through anything we were not expecting. The Gunners have finally completed the signing of Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax Amsterdam for an undisclosed fee. Reports estimate the transfer fee to be around £10m.
But all of a sudden it seems David Villa might be staying with Valencia. It appeared certain he would leave with Los Che desperate for cash. But wait! All of a sudden it seems they want to keep hold of him and he's not for sale at all. Or that's what his agent says. Deal done next week, then.
Another transfer set to go through, as mentioned in the morning update, is Roque Santa Cruz's move to Manchester City from Blackburn Rovers. It has just been reported that the two clubs have (finally) agreed a fee thought to be in the region of £18m.
New Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has begun his rebuilding at the DW Stadium by recruiting one of his star turns from Swansea. Jordi Gomez, who was on loan with the Swans from Espanyol, has cost somewhere in the region of £1.7m.
The Paul Scharner move from Wigan to Fulham is edging nearer, according to his agent.
Good old 'Arry may have been trying to get some cash together by selling misfits such as Didier Zokora, but it actually appears he wants a few too many pennies. Sevilla have said the Ivorian is too expensive.
Seems full-backs are all the rage at Liverpool right now, with the woeful Andrea Dossena on his way out. Juve will make a decision on him next week.
However, Liverpool face a battle to get Glen Johnson into their ranks. It seems old club Chelsea have matched their bid in the region of £17.5m for the Portsmouth and England star.
West Ham, meanwhile, feel they are closing in on a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Luis Jimenez in the near future

senderous should go instead of gallas or toure. yaya toure will b a fantastic holding midfielder if brought to the emirates..bendtner is a waste n shld go. adebayo would be a better striker only if he has fantastic strike partners like david villa, benzema or even pato. wenger is gradually turning arsenal into an average club..arsenal can afford the best players in the world and that exactly wat we shld do and stop dependin on cesc or ashervin. a tree does not make a forest

More respect 4 prof wenger in the curse of last season, the squard is very ok,is jst that we need to strenghtend the defence,we need not to sell any players,as far as my opinion we ve most dangerous attack is jst that they need to put more force next season,at list roshisky, eduador, van.persie, adebayor, bentner, walcot, nasri, assavin(aka assasin)and bro cecs are there to deliver .If we can buy yaya toure or Alonso to adjst the midfield,it will be of a mature assistance 4 cecs fabricas .i wish us best of greater and successful come next season.gunners 4 life
