Inter have moved to quash speculation that defender Marco Materazzi is on the way to Tottenham Hotspur, while the club have all but signed Wigan's Wilson Palacios.
The one-time Everton stopper, who was sent off four times during his Goodison career, has struggled with injury this season, but Spurs should really be concentrating on a striker or two instead of the Italian Zidane baiter.
They've also been told, says the Telegraph, that Carlo Cudicini is not for sale. Which does not leave them with many options between the sticks.
After 'Arry's rant at Darren Bent, striking reinforcements are certainly needed, but instead, Spurs have agreed a deal for tough midfielder Palacios for £14m. A good move, but with Jermaine Jenas, Tom Huddlestone, Didier Zokora and Jamie O'Hara all capable of playing in the holding role, is it really what they need?
Speaking of which, Arsenal's pursuit of Andrei Arshavin could end in tears as Zenit appear not to want to budge from their £18m valuation.
The Russian may just buy himself out of his contract in November and then move on a free transfer, alerting every club in the Premier League and beyond to his availability. Arsenal though, with their imposed deadline of the 26th of Jan, leave themselves just six days to find a replacement if the deal falls through.
Man City are after a new goalkeeper and have bid £5m for Shay Given, according to the Shields Gazette; while Tuttomercatoweb report that Branislav Ivanovic will move to Eastlands for a vastly inflated fee of £22m. Still, he has to be better than Tal Ben Haim.
Middlesbrough, meanwhile, are ready to snap up Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson.
While Sky Sports also claim that Panathinaikos defender Bryce Moon is closing in on a move to West Ham.

I think that it would be nice if Tottenham where able to get Matterazi even though I doubt it will happen. I think the defense is somewhere that needs to be invested in because it always seems that the first choice defenders are hurt. I'm still interested in hearing about Adriano. I would like to see Spurs at least inquire as to Arshavin since they did pursue him for so long over the summer and the fee seems to be less than it was over the summer. But Tottenham definitely need to improve in some way because they are flirting with relegation.
