The Kaka story continues to rumble on, but while £107m may seem a lot for one of the world's best, how have Man City been conned into paying £14m for Craig Bellamy?
The striker was left out of West Ham's game at the weekend because he ''wasn't in the right frame of mind'' (which begs the question when he is actually is), but the real issue is why so many clubs are fighting over him?
Tottenham Hotspur appear to have seen sense after giving up the Bellamy-chasing and are now looking towards Wilson Palacios for their £14m fix instead, according to the Daily Mail.
Arsene Wenger must be kicking himself. Telling Steve Bruce to go and buy Palacios for a measly £1m a few years ago, the Wigan boss is now reaping the rewards and will cash in on his prize asset, while Arsenal scrabble around for anyone with a left foot.
Tottenham are in pole position, despite the Daily Star reporting that they want to spread the fee over a number of years, but another club are reportedly interested in taking the Honduran away from the JJB. United? Chelsea? Maybe even Arsenal? Actually, it's probably just Man City again.
The Middle-Eastlanders are also going to splash £14m on Bellamy, according to the Telegraph. Why, no-one can understand, but at least the Hammers will get a few quid to spend on the likes of Cardiff's Joe Ledley and Pablo Daniel Osvaldo - a £7m buy from Fiorentina if you believe the Times.
City have already made a bid to bring another Hamburg defensive midfielder (to go alongside their Vincent Kompany addition) Nigel De Jong to the club, but the deal appears to be being held up by more inflated fee demands. If City can stump up £18m, the move may just go through in the next 48 hours, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Meanwhile Kaka's on, off, on, off, oh-just-move-already, move to Eastlands sees City's executive chairman Garry Cook getting the first EasyJet flight to meet Milan vice-president Adriano Gallini and Kaka's father Bosco Leite in Italy on Monday, says the Times.
The most predictable story to be found comes from the Daily Mirror who claim that the Brazilian wants a clause inserted in his contract so he's free to join up with Real Madrid, Barcelona or whoever else wants him when City are struggling in the relegation zone again next year.
Kaka, or Jermain Pennant? It's a toughie, but now that the Liverpool winger appears to want to wait until the summer to secure his future and not move to Milan or Madrid just yet, the Daily Mirror reports he'll go to the Reds' arch-rivals Everton instead. Implausable? No more so than Pennant running out at the Bernabeu.
Newcastle are in the news, and not because they've hit new depths by losing 3-0 to Blackburn. No, it gets worse for Toon fans as The Times reports that their £5m bid for Renes midfielder Stephane Mbia has been rejected. It's not Joe Kinnear's fault though, especially if they fail to get Lille centre-back Adil Rami as well.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail claims that Inter Milan's interest in Jermaine Jenas will result in the Spurs midfielder moving on, but permit everyone in the world a sharp intake of breath and a quick look out the window to check a pig isn't flying past.
The 1,406th player to be linked with Spurs is now Reading's Stephen Hunt, according to the Daily MIrror, who believe that a £5m bid will be enough to lure the shaggy-haired Irishman back to the Premier League. Wigan, too, are in the race as they're keen to blow some of the cash they get from Palacios' sale.
Boro also want some cash, and aren't willing to sell Stewart Downing to get it. Step forward Mido, who the Daily Mirror claim is about to be swapped for Aston Villa's Marlon Harewood and some wonga too.
Finally, Portsmouth are looking to spend some of their hard earned cash. But while they have in excess of £35 million after their sale of Jermain Defoe and Lassana Diarra, all they can muster up is interest in Villarreal defender Edmilson. The Daily Mail claims Palmeiras might beat them to the punch, but surely they can do better than that.
