For a change it's not Kaka who leads the rumours of the day, but instead his Brazilian team-mate Robinho gets a go in the spotlight having left a Man City training camp and is now linked with Chelsea, say The Sun.

The Blues have decided not to try and match City's spending this January, but could return to pick up the striker if he chooses to cut his losses and give up on his career at Eastlands. Maybe they'll have a use for those 'Robinho #?' Chelsea shirts after all.

Obviously if Robinho does eventually move to Stamford Bridge, there'll be no need to keep Florent Malouda around. Therefore the Frenchman is already eyeing up a move, according to the Daily Mirror, to Villarreal. A £9m bid is apparently on the table, with the only demands on the winger's behalf being that he has to be kept as far away from French coach Raymond Domenech as possible, should he visit the Estadio El Madrigal.

Antonio Valencia could be the next arrival if Robinho isn't tempted to swap clubs, and the Independent say Man Utd are also in for the Ecuadorian too. As if they don't have enough twinkle-toed pretty boys already.

In other Chelsea-related transfer news, the future of Didier Drogba is again subject of interest. The Ivorian clearly has no future left at Stamford Bride and the Daily Mail have him lined up for a return to former club Marseille. The French club should be wary though, he's hardly the same player they had back in 2003 and would certainly command more in wages and diving-driven bonus payments.

The Mail also claim that serial bench warmer Carlo Cudicini might finally get tired of counting his cash on the sidelines and actually feel like playing football for Tottenham. A £1m deal for a keeper who would walk into most Premier League sides seems a good move, but not when you remember he's probably forgotten what shape a football is.

While Tottenham put the finishing touches to their £14m deal for Wilson Palacios, The Sun claims that the club are going to cut their losses on Gilberto, with Getafe ready to take the defender out of White Hart Lane before Gareth Bale's unlucky streak starts to effect him.

City meanwhile, as they struggle to hold onto Robinho, may also find themselves having to ward off interest in young Danny Sturridge. The Daily Mail have the Robinho look-a-like heading to Blackburn (but only if Roque Santa Cruz is involved), while the Daily Mirror thinks Martin O'Neill wants to add to his compliment of tricky young English forwards at Aston Villa.

Liverpool look set to strengthen their defence as they have no desire to offer Daniel Agger a new deal, so instead are turning to Spain for a £20m bid for Sevilla's Fernando Navarro, so says The Telegraph.

On the other side of Stanley Park, Everton's striking issues could be solved by Racing Santander's Mohammed Tchite, but may turn to Portugal international striker Hugo Almeida, or any other player capable of putting the ball in the net who would be interested in a loan move.

The Daily Star think that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and midfielder Cesc Fabregas would be tempted to join the circus at Real Madrid; and they might if frustrations boil over in the signing of Andrei Arshavin, who The Sun say will move if Zenit accept the Gunners' take-it-or-leave-it offer. Chances are they'll probably leave it though.

The Currant Bun also has the news that unsettled Bolton defender Danny Shittu (yes he does still play for them), is looking for a way out, with Sunderland and Newcastle keen to offer him some football.

West Ham flop Julien Faubert appears to be heading to Lyon, who are still not showing an interest in poor old Charles N'Zogbia if you read The Times. While the Independent claim they have missed out on the signing of Fiorentina youngster Pablo Osvaldo. Oh well.

Finally, Middlesbrough are just desperate to sign someone to get them out of their relegation battle. That person appears to be Marlon King, who has had a bust-up with Hull boss Phil Brown according to the Daily Mail, although rumours are that they may have to thrown in a Mido-shaped object to seal the deal.
