On The Move
Posted by Jon Carter on 01/15/2009

Kaka is the man in demand as every daily in the world is running a story about his proposed move to Manchester City. On or off? No-one seems to know.

AC Milan, however, seem unwilling to sell the Brazilian and now The Telegraph (among others) claims the deal is dead.

City may be making eyes at someone else, but it's Milan who are linked with the first move. Anyone for a Danish defender at £7.5 million?

The Rossoneri might use some of the cash they eventually get for Kaka to sign Liverpool defender Agger, who The Express claim has been holding secret talks with the club. With the paper kindly offering Agger in the region of £75,000-a-week, how could he refuse?

The Times also think Agger is on his way, because of a clause in his contract allowing him to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

Jimmy Bullard is also in demand, although not from the likes of Milan, and the Daily Star have decided to ignore the specualtion that Arsenal are interested, instead claiming that Bolton is the place to go for a measly £6 million.

Someone should tell Bolton that though, as they seem to have thrown their toys out of the pram after their £5 million bid was rejected. One thing's for sure, Denilson won't be offered a permanent deal.

Didier Drogba's future at Stamford Bridge also looks under threat as the striker was left out of Chelsea's near-humiliation against Southend. The Daily Star thinks that he'll be sold and replaced by Sevilla's Brazilian Luis Fabiano who has hardly been setting the world alight in La Liga this year.

Manchester United, who won't be making any more moves in the January window, are apparently looking to capitalise on Wilson Palacios' availability, say The Sun. £14 million of their money looks so much nicer than £10 million of Tottenham's, so Fergie might end up spending his Christmas cash after all.

Strangely, Spurs still seem keen to splash £14 million on someone, so they've stuck a pin in Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones according to the Daily Express.

Harry Redknapp is also pretty keen to add Derby goalkeeper Roy Carroll to his squad, just in case Heurelho Gomes turns to the dark side again, and could sign him for £250,000 if you believe the Daily Mail.

The Sun have one-time Arsenal target Gael Givet heading to Blackburn, while the Daily Express think that two-time Arsenal target Modibo Diakite will not be leaving Lazio this month after his agent quashed any chance of a deal.

Hull, however, look like busy little bees and are trying to bring in Espanyol's former Liverpool defender Steve Finnan for a cut price £1 million, say the Daily Mirror. Now all they need to do if persuade him to switch the sunshine for the KC Stadium.

They have a spare million to burn now that Luis Boa Morte's proposed £1m move from West Ham has fallen through thanks to his wage demands. Honestly, you'd think he'd be happy someone actually wants to pay him money to play!

BEST OF THE REST

The Sun have Pompey misfit David Nugent on his way to Sheffield United on loan, before eventually joining for £3.5 million and a new pair of football boots.

Bolton and Blackburn both want another Portsmouth misfit,Lauren, who might be tempted to quit this cold country and head over to Turkish side Fenerbahce or Greek side AEK Athens, say the Daily Mirror.

Blackburn will make Mark Janko their main man once the inevitable Roque Santa Cruz story is finished. The Mirror claim the ''Austrian scoring sensation'', who is 6' 5'', will land in England - probably hitting his head on the way in.
