Let's steer clear of some Brazilian bloke who will become a millionaire every two weeks and find something more interesting, like The Daily Mail's claim that Manchester United will hijack Tottenham's bid to sign Wilson Palacios from Wigan Athletic.
Of course, some claim Manchester City will hijack the hijack. Oh, and they want Marco Materazzi too, says The Daily Mirror.
But there is some sensational transfer talk over at Manchester City (oh, the shock) as ever inventive Sun reports that they are about to launch another big bid, this time for Chelsea and England skipper John Terry.
Who else is going to Eastlands? Well The Sun also has Shay Given completing an £8 million transfer from Newcastle United.
Tottenham have not been afraid to announce their transfer targets this month. Now they are going for Craig Bellamy with most of the nationals revealing he stormed out of training in a huff as West Ham try to keep hold of him. Try The Daily Telegraph.
Zenit St Petersburg are now ready to sort things out with Arsenal over Andrei Arshavin, which is in The Daily Telegraph.
There no certainty over the future of Carlos Tevez. And The Daily Telegraph reports he'll be off to Barcelona in the summer.
Meanwhile, over at The Times, they can see Portsmouth making a shocker of a swoop for Javier Saviola.

I hope Palacios stays at Wigan, he's their best player in my opinion.
And I'm not entirely sure why everyone wants Bellamy.
Also, how does Shay Given feel, if he's only been rated at 8 mil, but Kaka's 100 mil. City should use their millions and get Casillas or Buffon, not Given.

Wigan should do their best to keep hold of Palacios, Valencia, Kirkland and Zaki - these players are most definitely international-class.
Shay Given is among the world's top five goalkeepers in my opinion; should City get him, good for them. And should Newcastle keep him, good for them. He belongs at Arsenal though - those folk over there need a better first-choice keeper than Almunia.

say spurs do buy palacios for 14million, then jenas is free to leave for a similar price.... so they break even. they dont make any money, they lose the stability of an established player and leader in jenas, and palacios isnt exactly miles better anyway.
so why not just stick to what they've got, namely a potentially top class (english) midfield of jenas and huddlestone, and not get lost amongst the transfer window mania. stability breeds success - just look at aston villa, nuff said.
